Great location, wonderful breakfast with extensive selection of options, owner/manager went above and beyond to help find solutions for us after our cycling trip was derailed with a cycling accident resulting in my daughter breaking her collar bone. He was even willing to lend us his vehicle to sightsee if we hadn’t been able to rent a vehicle. He persuaded the local Avis at rental to open on a Sunday to allow us to continue our journey.

From Canada, we are used to AC in hotel rooms. Norway was experiencing unusually hot weather so it made sleeping difficult. It was nothing that the hotel could do about it other than they were able to provide a fan which certainly helped.

Nice fresh fruit at breakfast.

Room lighting was somewhat limited. Washcloths, better bathroom amenities, tissues would be improvements.

The most friendly helpful folks we have ever encountered in our travels! The room is super quiet and the bed a cloud. Breakfast choices are very broad and yummy. Thank you very much!

Scandic Hønefoss is located in the center of Hønefoss. Attractions and restaurants can be found in walking distance. The room we stayed in had reasonable size and offered enough comfort for a pleasant stay. However, if you are planning for a longer stay or you are traveling with a lot of luggage you‘ll find that there’s not a lot of storage space in the room. You can hang some clothes but that’s it. Therefore you may consider checking with the hotel staff upfront which room category is best for your needs. The breakfast was very good with lots of things to choose from.

The hotel doesn’t have its own parking lot which means one must either use the charged parking area across the street (NOK 269.- per day) or look for a FOC alternative elsewhere.

Very nice staff

There was constant buzz in the room and flow of cold air. The parking was not free, the fee for a pet was quite high. (We use to travel with our dog and this was the highest fee we have payed so far).

Lovely hotel, very kind staff, superb breakfast. We also really enjoyed the games in the lobby.

Very central, just 150m from the bus station with a comfortable bed. But the choice of accommodation in Hønefoss is very little.

The Gluten free food was an insult to anyone with tummy problems. The bread and the muesli was rock hard, i tried to use a fork to loosen the muesli in a large bottle, but gave up. The bottle next to it with what looked like cornflakes was so dry it just crumbled between my fingers. When it came to the bread it was obvious that whoever shops for this hotel knows nothing about good healthy food. The staff never smiled, not even one of them.

The room had enough space, a well renovated bathroom, friendly staff and a superb breakfast. And the Espresso in between was free!

The fact that I was allowed to leave my bike in the lobby of the hotel and the friendly reception.

The breakfast could have benefited from a bit more choice.

No air conditioning - The hotel is so old and worn out. Very expensive for what you get.
