Grand Hotel Hønefoss

Old building but my room was renovated and clean.Breakfast was decent and varied enough.Good value for a solo traveler.

Walls were a bit thin and you could easily hear your neighbor.

I enjoyed the large double room & comfy bed on 3rd floor with the big plasma . The breakfast meny is simple & filling & staff is very laid back and it’s ideal as it’s in the centre short walking distance everywhere

The bathroom had a funny smell it’s probably common since it’s older building I put some chlorine in the toilet and it went .

Average and expensive for the room

TV did not work. Hotel looks tired.

Close to the train, town centre and bus stop. The old hotel is a bit tired but the bones are sound, its character persists and we were glad we chose to stay here. Unlimited coffee and tea, and warm cosy lounge area and refreshing breakfast.

Showers need an update, the hotel has plenty of character but is in need of a mild refresh.

Room was cold, had to ventilate my radiator to get it fully functioning. Floor heating in the bathroom didn’t work. Bathroom ceiling was covered with mould. Breakfast was poor. Overall everything was warn out.

Little fruit at breakfast. Yoghurt only sweetened. Not very good selection if you are vegetarian.Bit run down.

Traditional Hotel central in the town. Reasonably priced, nice old features preserved. A good breakfast buffet. Friendly and helpful staff.

We had no complaints apart from paying for parking at the hotel, which seemed excessive. And as a destination Hønefoss does not have a lot to offer.

Location is great.

Room was tiny and cold, had a noisy fridge and the TV didn't work.

Old and stylish. Nice interior in the common areas. Very clean, and friendly staff!

It's sadly and unnecessarily run down, which feels like a waste. Missing buttons for flushing the toilet, difficulties with flushing several toilets, broken tiles in the bathroom, lack of hair dryer and iron which I thought was standard in a hotel. It's easy fixes that would raise the rating with 2-3 on the 1-10 scale.

Neighbours had a loudly fight (across the street) until 01:00 in the night. Made it hard to sleep.Not your fault but perhaps you could have called the poplice or something.

Nothing particularly special actually. Easy to find with Google Maps :) The staff was friendly and helpful.

The room was weird and felt like a closed. The bathroom was narrow and not inviting to be in. The room was looking towards a railway and so once in a while the sound was loud... Very loud. Also during the night. The breakfast was basic.

Handy location outside Oslo on the way to Western Fjords. Large, clean family room. Reasonable breakfast included.

All common areas were seriously dated, needing some investment in decoration.

Dividing wall from the grand staircase to the rooms was modern, instead of the elegant older look of the rest of the hotel. It looked a bit out of place.

The hotel is very nice. Good location, delicious breakfast, comfortable bed. Everything the traveller needs.

A fantastic comfortable stay.The staff were awesome,great location in a scenic town.We sat in an area outside the back entrance and met a great couple from Norway.Very friendly atmosphere.Sitting room was awesome,where we played a few games!
