Mercure Florianopolis Convention Hotel

Close to shopping malls.

The room I book was published as having tea/coffee maker which it did not have. The front desk staff told us that it was a Booking error.

The location, the staff, the availability of a restaurant/bar, proximity to a service station shop and pharmacy.

The heating appears to be based on vents and was off during the winter months. Small fan heaters were provided, but were weak and not fit for purpose.

I stayed for a whole week for a business trip. Had to change the room when I arrived (Clogged sink, broken shower part) but the second room was not better (remote of TV broken, not able to use Netflix on the TV but above all the floor was wet because of a problem with the A/C from the room below). It took 3 days to fix it…. Very high humidity inside the room which is not healthy.This hotel is very bad for a business trip. No laundry service available, they only have an iron without steam (a very old thing) and NO ironing board!!! You have to iron your shirt on the side of a small wood table!!!!I had problems paying for my reservation in advance and my reservation was cancelled once. Very hard to reach the hotel by phone.AND NOW THE WORSTVery slow check out, my cab was waiting and Emerson asked me for BRL 270 reais extra telling me that the stay was not fully paid even though I had paid everything in advance via booking... he saw that I was in a hurry and wanted to take advantage. I didn't pay, left and sent 2 e-mails to the hotel about this scam and didn't receive a reply after a week.His name is Emerson. Black list for the hotel. Be aware!

I`m not a very complicated guest and usually prefer not to leave any comments. But this time I have to do this. I`m travelling all over the world many years and visited many hotels by Mercure. But this one is really "special". I couldn`t believe that everything awful about hotel services can be gathered in one place! Everything. Beginning from hotel stuff which are not able to speak english at all and finishing with a swamp smell in all the rooms! Hot water in shower can be finished in any time! No any noise isolation at all! There even wasn`t a shield "Don`t disturb" in the room. Stayed there just because the medical congress took place in the city and there were no any rooms in other hotels. We were really happy to escape from there at the end.

- Receptionist at check in and other staff were very helpful.- Room was in good size.- Restaurant had 1 option for vegan (Swiss potato)

- Breakfast was not vegan friendly. They only had fruit and bread but no veggie butter, veggie cream cheese, or some jelly. At least they had some plant based milk. If they had some more options like some "scrambled tofu", avocado, etc it would enhance greatly the experience and the breakfast price would be worth it.

Staff is friendly. The room is well kept (clean).

The room is noticeably old. The bathroom is narrow and has mould. The internet is unacceptable, you lose connection all the time and when it works is really slow.

Mercure Florianopolis is well located, close to roads to north and east beaches. It has restaurants and a shopping center close by, so it's very convenient.

They simply didn't have a room for us, despite it was booked (and confirmed!) weeks in advance. The check-in time was at 2pm, and we arrived close to 4pm, so there was no excuse for that. They ended up finding a room for us, but the stress at check-in messed up the whole experience.

centrally located for easy Uber access to go to other parts of the island. good food within hotel. staff was excellent and tried really hard to overcome language barrier

The location is close to anywhere. At the restaurant there is a cashier whose name is Luciana, she is very proactive. She comes out to check the orders or any troubles. And she seems very friendly.

When I asked the attendant to fix the safe box at the beginning of my stay. No one went to fix it until I went out. And the penultimate day, I didn´t have a clearner to clean my room. I´d to go to the attendant to get more towel and toilet paper.The breakfast is the same everyday, but it covers all and doesn´t empty, but the machine is not working neither the coffee machine nor the toast machine. The gym have a little machines, but a majority had broken. The swimming pool is a little dirty and didn´t have the inspection since the octuber last year. The curtain at the shower is very short, when I took a bath, the water came out. Make the ground weddy.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, very clean room.

Low quality pillows and the rooms could use remodeling. Not a big deal if it's a short stay like ours, though.

Breakfast was not included but the caffeteria was very good, actually the combos for breakfast were a high point in this stay. Well located, close to airport and to the east side of Florianopolis.

Location is very convenient, close to main roads and downtown. Gaparuvu restaurant is very nice for breakfast (could open earlier though).
