Katari Hotel at Plaza de Armas

The breakfast was delicious and made-to-order. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was incredible.

Situated perfectly in the city center. The rooms are beautifully decorated and maintained in acceptable shape.

1. No air conditioning at all, extremely hot in rooms. They only have ventilators that do not help. The staff suggested to just open window (out to the main plaza which is noisy)2. Breakfast is awful, strange a la carte options, we asked to just cook 4 eggs for us to take away as we had a trip to the canyon, the staff refused (100 USD per room and they can’t just boil 2 eggs per person…). The view is great; but you do not even have a small buffet.3. No drinking water in rooms provided, only filtered sewage water which does not taste well

Nothing - it was great.

The location is perfect with an amazing view. The staff is great, the food is delicious (breakfast is yummy), the room is spacious (203), good shower, comfortable bed. They kept our luggage with no charge when we went to Canyon de Colga.

If you are a light sleeper be aware that the square/street is very noisy. (Suggestion: it would be great to have body lotion with the amenities)

My favorite hotel in all of Peru. Very beautiful rooms - modern and well decorated. Lovely bathroom & shower. Quiet and lovely bed. The location was amazing and I the rooftop restaurant for breakfast offered a wonderful view and the breakfast was the best hotel breakfast in Peru! The staff was outstanding.

Everything was wonderful - no negative comments.

So the photo of the rooftop bar looks farrrrr larger than it is. It’s very very small so be prepared. Look for the bullet hole in the clock on the cathedral. 9 oclock

The location was beautiful and evenings at the rooftop bar were wonderful. The hotel staff was extremely accommodating with securing safe transfers for us multiple times and preparing a to go breakfast when we had an early morning excursion we had to leave for.

Incredible view from the rooftop restaurant and from our room (Presidential Suite). Staff were warm, helpful and very professional. Breakfast was large and delicious—great variety of choices, too. Perfect location in the center of Arequipa. Highly recommend it!

Great location

Too noisy since it’s adjacent to the main square. Loud music broadcasted until midnight on Saturday and then loud speakers blasted started at 7:00 on a Sunday morning.

Absolutely beautiful accommodation. The staff are very friendly and really care about your stay.The room is just beautiful and I didn't want to leave. This is one of my favorite accommodations of all time!!The rooftop view is amazing but the food they serve is top quality.

The only thing missing from the room was a lamp

The staff at the restraunt/bar on roof. Very slow and not professional. Tables were left sitting dirty while they just stood around and talked. Etc. seemed to be the younger people not older. .

Katari hotel in Arequipa was our favorite hotel during our Peru trip! It was in the Plaza de Armas, so you couldn’t beat the location. It was one of two rooftop terraces on the plaza which provided incredible views. Our room surpassed our expectations! It was large and very luxurious. It had a built in water purifier in the sink which is a must during our Peru trip (saves so much on water bottle expenses). When we return to Arequipa we will be staying here only.

Loved the location right on the Plaza . Spectacular views from the rooftop terrace. We were also supplied with a boxed breakfast for our early morning departure. Also loved the filtered water in tap in the bathroom

A desk would have been useful but I found a flower stand, which served the purpose :)

Property is centrally located in the Plaza Mayor, right in front of the main Cathedral and with a very nice rooftop with a great view to the Misti volcano.

I got a room on the 4th floor, a little bit noisy during the night, with no air conditioning, so we had to sleep with the window open, we could hear everything that was going on the rooftop

The hotel is located on Plaza de Armas, the main square of Arequipa. The location is very close to the street Mercaderes, a shopping street. It has a small but cozy breakfast area on the top floor so you can view the square and enjoy Mountains.

The hotel is small and old. Our initial room -#201-was on the minus 1 level, no windows. It was creepy. We rejected it and asked for another one. There was nothing else. We insisted and one room appeared available, with king size bed. That room -#404- was good. The concierge-Linadias- honored the price we paid but asked for more money for the next day stay. We opted out. Ask for this room if reserve.One of the disadvantages is the restaurant on the same spot as a viewing area. It has 6 small tables. The food you order can come cold, not hot. Ask for the hot meal.Breakfast: be prepared to order tiny portions of fruit salad, eggs, or something else, again in small portions. The hotel does not offer a variety of anything as someone is used to expect in other hotels.
