This hotel has it all- charm, elegance, old world meets new, great breakfasts and top tier staff. Location is perfect distance to restaurants and the Plaza de Armas. I truly cannot say enough good about this hotel and staff, if I ever find myself in Arequipa again, there is no question where I will stay.

    Everything was great!

    The service

It’s a very beautiful old house, but the rooms are in a building that seems stuck in the 1990s. They’re not renovated at all, making you feel like you’re in an old hotel. For this reason, it’s not worth the price for a hotel with these characteristics. The rooms and bathrooms were outdated. The photo makes them look better than they are.

Location was excellent and the staff were exceptional. Juan and Eric were exceptional concierge!!

The courtyard with the metal trees.Oscar, one of the breakfast waiters, was keen for us to try all of the Peruvian goodies on the elaborate breakfast buffet. These goodies ranged from tuno (red prickly pear) to raw honey from the comb. My favourite was the adobo (slow cooked pork belly with a spicy and tangy adobo sauce.)

One of the bedrooms was dark with a window that looked onto an inner courtyard, The other one was noisy from a constantly refilling water system. The staff enquired who we were every time that we returned to the hotel.

Beautiful old building with lovely historical features. The staff were so helpful. Nice breakfast. Quiet rooms.

We liked the location, five minutes from the Plaza de Armas. And also the common areas of the hotel, like the spanish courtyard, typical in such a historical building.

We didn't like our room. It belonged to a building attached to the main house, and surprisingly with a very rare design: without views (window facing an internal patio), old fashioned furniture, weekly iluminated... The overall experience was not worth the price we paid.

Outstanding in every respect! Our room was especially comfortable; great bed, large bathroom, comfortable seating area (though small). Breakfast was especially good with great selections and service. Juan, who is a combination bellman/greeter/concierge was amazing - kind, helpful, anxious to assist on any way, a top notch representative for the property. Location is just about perfect, too - A short walk to Plaza de Armas, restaurants, and several key tourist sites. We stayed for 4 nights and hope to call there again on a trip to explore Colca Canyon.

    Loved it all!

perfectly located property in walking distance to all the hustle and bustle of arequipa. great staff!

our bathroom was a bit dated and the door to the shower would keep opening unless you’d put your bath mat to stop it.

    location was excellent

the beds were too small and bouncy mattress charge of 2 euros for drinkable water speciality coffees not included in the breakfast complicated and slow check in process

The hotel is located in a gorgeous old building, with most of the rooms in a newer part of the hotel. Our room was large, with a truly massive and comfortable bed. The shower was warm, though a bit cramped. The bathroom itself was large with plenty of space. The Wi-Fi was good. The breakfast was excellent and all the staff was very friendly. The hotel is within walking distance of the main square and a large amount of excellent restaurants.

The bathroom did not have any real ventilation, which made it difficult to get rid of the heat from the shower. There was a ventilation grate, but there was virtually no airflow coming through it. What was coming through it was a lot of sounds from presumably the room next door, which consisted of, one the first day, two adults and on day two a group of children playing in the bathtub. There was also a lot of noise from people running and talking/screaming in the hallway. There was no sound coming from outside the building, so the nights themselves were relatively quiet.

Located in the historical center, it's a lovely historic building, close to all of the sightseeing.

The standard rooms are not comfortable and do not have enough light. The rooms are located in an annex building and all of the windows are facing a staircase. I had to upgrade to a suite in order to make my stay more comfortable for work. I complained about the hot water several times, the water was lukewarm at best and the shower pressure was disappointing. I had to remind the front desk to have my room done everyday, ammenities were missing each day (no new soap, coffee, etc)At check out time, front desk charged me soles instead of usd, making the checkout lengthy.
