Pros +

  • The location was great, right off of paulista, a block in. The lounge and bar was very very small, and full every time we tried to go. This was the only downside.
  • Liked the location, the breakfast and room.
  • Location was the best, but it was NOT a four star hotel as indicated on the purchase

Cons -

  • They charged me an extra 100$ because my reservation said two people when it was three. Ive never dealt with this before. Double occupancy Rooms usually sleep four.
  • No free access to sauna or steam room, no iron,
  • Room was very outdated--like 1970s decor.

I use to stay at this hotel when I go to SP. It is simply a legendary place to stay. Old style but very comfortable, and breakfast is delicious.

the bones of the hotel are great, but it needs some remodeling.

shower was not that great, decoration was a bit old, rooms didn’t feel cozy, door kept giving trouble to lock

The location is good and also the pool, also it is smaller than in the fotos. The bathroom was hughe and clean.

The furniture needs a new styling it looks quite old fashioned

Location

Old furniture. The facility had a partial back out in my room and it was not resolved.

Location: EXCEPTIONAL. Close to shoppings, Paulista Avenue, subway, & everything needed to go to the tourist attractions.Breakfast:EXCEPTIONAL. Good variety of fruits, breads, beverages, pastries, juices, and omelets. Room. HORRIBLE. Old (not antique) furniture. Bad smell of sewer. Elevator: HORRIBLE. Takes forever to arrive. However, good view front the elevator to the lobby area.Staff: Polite, well trained, English speaker. HOWEVER, The hotel continue to perpetuates the RACISM that is rampage in the Brazilian society. The front desk staff is ONLY WHITES. Black, Asians, and POC are only doing the low level jobs (housekeeper, door men & women, etc...).

THIS HOTEL CONTINUE TO PERPETUATE THE RACISM & AGEISM THAT IS RAMPAGE IN THE BRAZILIAN SOCIETY THAT DENIED JOB'S OPPORTUNITIES TO NON-WHITES AND OLD ADULT INDIVIDUALS. If you are from the USA (same as I am) where equality and opportunities is one of our values you will not feel welcome in this hotel. Yes, BLACK LIVES MATTER (VIDAS NEGRAS IMPORTAM) & PEOPLE OVER 40 YEARS OLD AGE MATTERS TOO.

[Extended holiday. Apartment Brazilian. Couple and 1y old son. ]Great space for a family. Beautiful hall! Swimming pool is great too. Nice breakfast.

Could have a microwave as a facility for mom’s needs. coffee could be better. And also could have coffee machine in the apartment.

Perfect location near PaulisataVery friendly staffVery clean roomsHad a nice suite (Brasiliana, 17th floor, impressive view)I loved the architecture of this 1980' hotel, with large patio, incredible lifts, the hotel had the "good taste" to leave it within its initial style and decoration, with renovation respecting the initial style, very much "Wallpaper magazine": staying there is like jumping in the brilliant 80', it's style will become soon iconic, so different from all worldwide standard decoration of the 5* and 4*. And funny to see how excellent the construction quality was in the 80': the suite has still some of its initial decoration, like bathrooms, wood furniture, and even if it is a bit old-fashioned and dated, I like it much better that some new hotels (for eg the Pullman Vila Olympia - same Accor group), where everything is new but already look tired and poor quality :)

The beds could be of better quality

Amazing breakfast. Bed ist excepcional. Room decorations quite old-fashioned, but comfortable for the eyes.

Key-card presented failures. More than once. But the workers were fast to fix it.

Good location. One block from Avenida Paulista, but far enough removed to not be bothered by traffic noise.

This hotel was obviously constructed in the 1980’s, when structures with huge open, yet enclosed atriums were the rage.Upon check-in, was offered at the desk an upgrade for a room on one of the Presidential floors. The amount extra per night was reasonable. Okay, I’ll bite….Entered room, and it was stifling hot! Porter showed us how to operate the AC. After an hour in the room, still stifling hot. Called front desk and advised of problem. Ok, someone will be right there,,was essentially the reply. After 10-15 minutes, no one arrived.Called a second time. Was assured someone would quickly come. They did. The maintenance personal was baffled. Said he needed to check something on the roof. Ok. After another 15 minutes had passed, he didn’t return, so I called Reception again requesting a change of rooms. At this point, at minimum, a voucher for a couple of compliments drinks (or even a meal) SHOULD HAVE been offered. Nada. This represents poor service. For future stays in São Paulo, I will not select this property.

Friendly and crisp staff always on top of their game. Very helpful, but sometimes too few of them to handle the peak times for arrival or departure.

Although I've stayed more than 20 times at Maksoud in a 6 months period the check-in procedure was always time-consuming. I wonder if they can find a way to fast-track guests once they are in their system several times.

9AdrianPosted on: 8-9-2021

Staff was very helpful and warm. Superb breakfast. Perfect location, quiet and one block away from Av Paulista. Spacey rooms.

I missed having an electric kettle at the room for a quick coffee. Some shower noise from other rooms through the AC vents.

The place is very well located but of course because of the COVID situation everything is different at the moment.good breakfast, friendly people super comfortable beds.

6RuudPosted on: 6-27-2021

The 80 classic vibe in the hotel and the great location. For a good deal its a good hotel. But definitely not luxury.

Quality of the breakfast is poor. Enough choice, but the cakes, croissants, etc is supermarket quality. The rooms are OK but could use a make-over.

Location and quality of breakfast and room service

Decoration a little too old for my taste.
