Pros +
- Charming hotel and well located, we enjoyed spending time in the garden nearby the pool. A special thanks to the staff in particular to Elton and Sheila for their kind welcoming!
- I cannot say enough about the hospitality shown by everyone at the Treehouse Boutique. We selected this hotel to stay during our anniversary and they made sure we were taken care of!We were greeted enthusiastically as if we were indeed long-awaited relatives coming to visit. Shelia was in charge and her warm welcome included a "feel right at home" overview of the facilities and services available to us. Breakfast was the top of the line delicious start to the day. Great-tasting food, responsive service always with a smile. And manager Elton John truly delivered on "rock star" treatment. When he says to let him know if there's anything he can do to make your stay there better, he really means it!We left there thoroughly taken by the cleanliness, creativity and global-conscious chic vibe of it all.
- The staff was very helpful and welcoming.
Cons -
- There's nothing not to like about our stay there. But one note of caution if you are ordering your own Uber service for transportation. Make sure they have the correct address of 28 Verperdene Road in their system so they can drop you off right in front of hotel. There seems to be no problem with them picking you right at door but if you are being dropped off some Uber drivers drop off on the street slightly above the hotel. That requires realizing you were at the right place but have to locate steps to come down to front of hotel.
- The bed was not very clean and hair was on the pillow.
- We thought the location was a good one - right between the V&A waterfront and CBD. However, we were told it was not safe to walk even a short distance at night. This is clearly for our benefit, but we kind of felt we had to stay in the room once it was dark (probably easier in Dec. than May when it starts getting dark at 6). We did not understand the issues at night, having freely walked in major cities elsewhere late at night or early morning hours, but the staff kept us safe. They truly could not have been kinder, and made our experience better. We should have done more research ahead of time.Use their drivers. Listen to their advice. Booking through hotel is for guest safety, not to pad a bill. This is a reputable, kind establishment. If you are a light sleeper, ask for a quiet room.

The staff was very helpful and welcoming.
The bed was not very clean and hair was on the pillow.
Staff was incredibly kind. They were attentive to all our needs. There is breakfast every morning (delicious), cake in the afternoon, a gin bar (local gins), wines, snacks, etc. They have a driver to take you places (add on to the bill), and can call a back up driver if needed. My friend got a massage and said it was fantastic. There are walkable areas during the day. Hotel is beautiful, clean, and has a wonderful lounge and pool area. Staff was easily the highlight, and they go out of their way to make guests feel welcome.Every single person we met whilst there was friendly and kind. Truly wonderful people who want to give you a fantastic experience.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Truly made our stay so special. The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean.
Parking can be a pain as it’s a narrow street but other than that, everything was perfect!
Staff were wonderful, melody was incredibly friendly and was a pleasure.Room view was lovely, rooms were clean and well designed.
Noisy room, zero view, claustrophobic
Breakfast was extensive and delicious.
The street hill to climb up from the main road is long and gradual. Difficult to turn around a car.
This is a great hotel, with fabulous staff. It is about a 10/15 minute walk from the V&A but at the top of a steep hill, so be prepared to get a taxi back
Staff could not be more helpful Room was tidy and cleanGreat variation for breakfast
Very clean, great breakfast options, staff were super lovely. Comfy beds and good amenities.
We were next to the road, which was fine as we both sleep through a lot but it was quite loud
Great location and the staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Elton. Breakfast was good and the variety of teas and cake available in reception were much appreciated. We enjoyed our stay here.
Parking was a bit tricky.
The welcome was fabulous, all the staff were brilliant, always so friendly and helpful. we are vegan and they went out of their way everyday to make sure we had options for breakfast. A very good location close to restaurants, bars, the waterfront etc, but set back enough to be quiet and peaceful. Everywhere was so accessible from here.We were so sad to leave.
The staff were amazing, especially Shirley, Elton and Phiwe who made sure we always had anything we needed for the first stop on our honeymoon. Location was central, facilities, food and room were lovely.
Location was a bit difficult for Ubers to find but a minor issue!
The team was fantastic - Sheila & the team really took care of us.The room was spacious and super comfortable. The location was fantastic and the area was very safe. The room and bed at the LookOut suite was fantastic, and the balcony had a fantastic view!
The swimming pool was a bit small but we hadn't planned on using it much so it didn't hinder us.Additionally, lighting in room is a bit dim at times but using the lamp helped brighten the room.
Pros: really lovely staff that care about their guests. Delicious breakfast.
It would have been helpful to know that they didn’t have a generator for loadshedding. No one told me when I checked in and when I asked about posting a daily schedule they said it changed too much and people would complain, but it would have been nice to know updates so you could plan charging your phone, drying hair, etc., You could hear road traffic so not very quiet. Massage was nice but the spa is situated between the front office and elevator so was quite noisy and not that relaxing (you could also hear them cleaning the kitchen). There’s a nightly wine hour but they charged me for it (it seemed like it was complimentary?) A nice place to stay but sad to say it’s certainly not a five-star property. As I said though, the staff is lovely and these issues are in no way their fault.
Fantastic location for walking to V&A waterfront and to Bo Kaap, and into the city. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were all exceptional - interesting & interested & always happy to help and to provide advice. Highly recommend.
Everyone who worked there were so lovely - will try to remember everyone’s names but Elton, Shelia, Phiwe were especially great thank you Location was greatRoom was very spacious Loved the cake of the day
WiFi was a little bit intermittent Private parking was good but was a tiny bit tricky to access the car as the spot is quite tight and backed onto a main road. However we were happy to know the car was in secure parking
The staff were amazing!! They added 2 stars to the rating!
Not easy to find or park up
The breakfast at the hotel was fabulous , the choices on offer were perfect and it was cooked to order .The standout for me was the eggs Benedict .The staff at this hotel were absolutely fantastic , from the management to the pool guy and cleaners .Every single one of them were friendly and very professional .
