Cape Grace, A Fairmont Managed Hotel

Loved the history of the hotel and furnishing, the decor, the solicitousness of the staff and the wonderful breakfast. They thought of everything for the room, supply of toiletries, to robes and slippers, turn down service, complimentary water etc.

One of the doormen accosted me and tried to block me from entering the hotel because he thought I was not a guest. Not a pleasant experience but management was very apologetic, and it did not happen again. Everyone else was absolutely wonderful.

It is beautiful and the room was great. Great location.

There were 2 occasions when the staff was not up to par. Once was at breakfast when hostess and waiter were disinterested and got orders wrong and acted as if they were too busy to be bothered. Other was over the use of the hotel car. Add 1 car!

Location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the Cape, the breakfast was excellent, good choice of hot & cold selections & service was swift & staff always very pleasant & helpful. Bed was very comfortable & the room was clean & serviced well. We also had dinner one evening at the Heirloom restaurant which was excellent, with good choices & good wine list.All round very lovely hotel with exceptional service & staff thanks very much.

The whole property has been renovated and looks fantastic. The room was very nice with a very comfortable bed and a beautiful view of the harbour and table mountain. Staff were all very nice and you can’t beat the location for the V&A. Lots of Lovely little touches for Christmas around the hotel with a nice bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived.

Wonderful location, amazing furnishings/decor and the most helpful staff! All so friendly and wanting to do anything to make your stay enjoyable. Such beautiful people. The food was excellent as well. Loved how many healthy options there were at the breakfast buffet including the various health powders and juices / tonics. Also loved the Le Labo toiletries!

There was nothing we “didn’t like”.

The property is absolutely amazing. The ambiance is incredible, the location is so central, we felt so safe with such great security checks through the property. The room is so clean, the towels are amazing and bed linen. The harbour and Mountain View side is just perfect. We would definitely stay here again especially if they upgraded the menu selection

The menu is too small :( there is no food served late at night, very few dinner options on the menu and no breakfast options. You have to go down stairs for breakfast which ends quite early too. When on holiday some people prefer to sleep in so adding breakfast and more dinner options to the menu would really work well and round off the whole experiences. Not to mention downstairs booking a dinner at the restaurant, when handed the menu it’s the exact same as the lunch menu we had that day. Very disappointing:( we would look forward to returning if the food options were just upgraded

Modern, elegant, and the epitome of class!! The newly refurbished hotel is exceptional! I will, without a doubt, visit again. From the doorman, concierge, waitresses, chefs - the staff are warm, welcoming and simply outstanding!

the rooms were spacious and comfortable. the location was perfect for my trip goals. the concierge staff were exceptionally helpful with bookings. breakfast was great.

understand that load shedding is a problem.. but inconvenient when you can’t dry your hair or charge your device in the room .. maybe you could offer battery banks

The staff members were very helpful and friendly . The breakfast was also very nice .

The ladies cleaning the rooms . One specifically, Saturday 14January2023 , at 12:00 . Left us with wet towels , no toilet paper and took my shopping bags I put away to use later . ( if I wanted to throw them away I would’ve put it in the dustbin? ) it just wasn’t great , nothing was cleaned , she wasn’t very friendly when we approached the room . It was disappointing.

It was an absolute joy to return to the Cape Grace. Friendly and welcoming, very comfortable, excellent location and so elegant! I enjoyed a good dinner and an excellent breakfast in the lovely Signal Restaurant and look forward to my next visit.

After two weeks of travelling, the menu for dinner felt too elaborate, but the chef was able to simplify one of the dishes for me so that I could enjoy a simple grilled Kingklip with vegetables.

The location on the waterfront is unparalleled with exceptional views. Breakfast was so elegant and so delicious with a variety of items from eggs Benedict to the yummiest flapjacks you will ever eat.

It’s difficult to find fault with this luxury hotel. The only thing I would have preferred in the room was a tissue dispenser although packets of tissue were among the amenities.
