The setting, buildings, runner ducks excellent staff and the upgraded room was special. We enjoyed the Duck Express which took us to and from our accommodation. The fact you can WhatsApp reception and someone comes immediately AND the breakfast was the best

great choice of breakfast; close to Stellenbosch, Cape Town, international Airport..Geuwels and Clara restaurant offer good lunch and dinner options.Indian running ducks are charming to watch passing by.
Beautiful vineyard , very lovely staff . We didn’t eat at Clara’s Barn as it was closed for a private function however the food at Guewels was exceptional. We would definitely return
Love everything about this place! The food, wine and accommodation were amazing.
When exceptional service and accommodation meets you on arrival and throughout. My wife and I stayed for just one night as it was our two year wedding anniversary. From entering the estate the service was impeccable. Clearly this is their main focus and it pays off. Upon arrival we were so fortunate to get a complimentary upgrade! The entire experience was a dream! The estate is amazing, the wines are exceptional, new on the harvest but some true gems are on the way! The food is absolutely delicious! Do not hesitate to book and stay here. I highly recommend it.

beautiful setting. Have been at the wine farm many times. Our first stay however. Nicely appointed room. The dinner experience was ok but not over whelming. Surprisingly no bartender onsite the make cocktails??
The room was damp. It had rained that day we stayed there. The room smelled damp and the insolation in my opinion of the building is poor. The private whirlpool is a nice feature however it was dirty and filthy unfortunately.
We had the most amazing stay. Stayed for 3 nights over Easter weekend. Everything was exquisite, from the pre-arrival communication, check in, room (finishes, amenities, plunge pool, peace & quiet), breakfast, dinner at Clara’s Barn/ Guewels, wine tasting. The staff were all amazing. The team has done an amazing job in creating a stunning experience that’s also great value for money. Will definitely be back.
I booked the Hotel Vergenoegd Hotel and Spa for me and my wife as part of our "milestone" wedding anniversary celebrations. I can honestly say that we couldn't have imagined a better experience. Not necessarily directly on the usual "beaten track" for Cape Town, but at the same time very convenient if coming from / returning to the airport and an extensive, wide-ranging property, which is not overlooked and at the same time offers views of the surrounding mountains. The Dutch farmhouse and other older buildings have been restored to an exceptionally high standard and similarly the modern accommodation (we stayed in a suite with a separate living area and plunge pool) were impeccably finished in an ultra modern style. As hotel guests, we had breakfast and dinner at Clara's Barn and also booked a lunch with family on the first day of our stay. Again everything was of a very high standard given that the restaurant is run by the chef Bertus Basson. We also booked massages at the (very private and welcoming) spa. These also exceeded our expectations and were a wonderful way for us to relax. A complimentary (for hotel guests) al fresco wine tasting one afternoon was also appreciated. All staff we encountered were highly attentive and professional whilst at the same time being friendly and low key. Nothing was too much trouble. We took a walk around the property one morning before breakfast and encountered the flock of Indian runner ducks on their regular morning walk. One of the staff who looked after them was more than happy to tell us about the unusual (and very cute) birds and his affection for them was evident. Thank you to all who made this a memorable lifetime experience for us. We would more than gladly return.
Nothing of note at all.
Perfect location for some rest and relaxation. The staff are great and friendly, the rooms are comfortable and luxurious. The pool and Jacuzzi are also great additions to enjoy lazy days. The wine on the farm is good and reasonable priced and there is a great restaurant on the grounds. The ducks on the farm add to the experience. Would definitely visit again.
Dinner/supper options could be expanded with some simpler/cheaper choices/options. Dinner at Clara Barn is a great culinary treat and experience for one night.
The suite was excellent. Very modern, great layout. Despite just being off a busy road, the hotel is a real oasis and the location is great for the last stop before the airport but with easy access to Stellenbosch and Kalk Bay. The wine tasting/ wine is superb esp the Malbec. The breakfast was the best of the whole trip (stayed in 6 hotels). All the staff we met were lovely.
Very little. We did have someone just come into our room after one knock instead of waiting for the door to be opened, on more than one occasion. Not a big deal but could have been embarrassing all round. For the meal in the evening maybe more vegetables on the menu. As in green veg. Not sure SA is great if you are vegetarian.
The restaurant is outsourced and does not provide adequately for guests that have more than a 3 day stayThe menu is limited and boring if you satay for more than a day or 2The times also do not suit late arrivals- the location of this estate is off the beaten track and it is difficult to purchase food when the restaurant is closed On certain days they close at 7pmWe tried ordering through Uber eats but the food arrived very cold because the driver lost his way.
1. Restaurant - menu and service times2. TV in the cottages
One of the most beautiful sceneries i have ever seen.
It was disappointing that our room didn't had a view. We had a jacuzzi but then it was surrounded by a white wall. That wall should be brought down. The outdoor space of the room was therefore disappointing, definitely compared to the other rooms who can enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Breakfast needs some work. Not as good as what I expected, especially after the superb dinner we enjoyed the previous evening.Enjoyed our beautifully appointed room, quiet, own pool, free beverages. Excellent.
As stated, breakfast was underwhelmimg. Nothing stood out as really "wow."
New and near the airport
Lack of attention to pool in the presidential suite
Loved everything about this property. Staff, villa, food everything was great.
The fine dining experience was amazing and well presented.
The breakfast serving was disappointing. The lady that served us was not in mood for working. When she arrived with our eggs and bacon the table still had plates on that we had to move for her to another table and then she looked very annoyed. The young man tried to make up for her lack of energy.
It is a perfect place with the most kindest and hospitable people. The wines are phenomenal, with great tastes, beautiful wine-tasting rooms and very knowledgeable and kind wine experts. Amazing food and in general a beautiful place to walk around and be a part of the estate for a few days! Best stay!
