    Pros +

    • Hotel staff I couln't fault - the staff were amazing, beautiful room, they really treated us well with some delicious deserts and chocolates waiting in our room and a bottle of champagne as it was our anniversary! 10/10
    • hotel location is in the short distance from anything at the waterfront and with easy access by car. Room size is bigger than usual. Bed is so comfortable you don't want to leave it. Breakfast is exceptional (there are oysters served). Hotel management staff is very helpful.
    • I think the hotel has perfect location, excellent breakfast, nice service

    Cons -

    • My husband and I got really bad Salmonella poisoning from Nobu on our first night. Be careful.
    • Cleaning service needs to be improved. They do not pay attention to "Clean my room" sign - one day it was on the door for 5 hours and the other - for 4 hours without any action. When there was no sign the cleaning team decided to make the service at almost 10pm. So when I came back to the room - it was in the middle of the service. At the end instead of going to sleep I spend around 30min until they empty the room
    • The AC in my room was not cooling and the maintenance stuff came couple times to fix the problem but they don’t!When I call reception for my room they don’t respond!?! Any they respond after couple long calls

Everything was wonderful, from the moment we arrived at the property and received the most attentive welcome and checked in we were in “Heaven” the entire time we spent at the property! The staff is beyond gracious, attentive, and quick to satisfy any of your needs, the food in the hotel is one of the best we have had and the comfort of the rooms is fit for a king! The location could not be any better if you are willing to take a short walk to waterfront and other attractions in town. This was probably one of the most beautiful and comfortable places we have stayed in the world. Highly recommend!!!

This is an amazing property with an awesome breakfast. Our room was beautiful and everything was extremely clean. The staff were all so welcoming and accommodating.

The room rate was a bit high.

The staff is very friendly. The rooms are nicely decorated, we overlooked the harbour and it was very quite at night. The pool and spa is extraordinary. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast is outstanding, they even have glutenfree options on the buffet and on the menue.

Great walking distance location to the V&A waterfront. Modern and well equipped rooms. Didn’t feel cramped at all - very spacious. Kids club was excellent and made our stay with our child much easier to manage - excellent staff in kids club.

Nothing - all was excellent. Price could be a bit more purse friendly though!

The One and Only is an amazing place to stay in Cape Town. We were treated very well by all the staff and all our needs were met. Food was good, spa was great, and service was almost perfect

    9ChinwenduPosted on: 4-9-2025

    It was beautiful and clean.

Upon checkout, I had 2 of my hats stolen. They were held after we checked out while we went to the mall before our car came and then we couldn’t find it. It was a very sad experience quite frankly.

The breakfast is exceptional, the staff demonstrates a high level of professionalism, and the location is unbeatable. The pool area is truly outstanding.

    Value for money

Liked the ‘waterfront’ location and the helpful, friendly staff.Larger than our normal hotel choice. But still a very enjoyable stay.

    9LindokuhlePosted on: 3-24-2025

Location was great! The rooms were spacious and clean. Good breakfast with a great selection.

Hostess at breakfast could be friendlier they could pay a little more attention to detail; shouldn't be calling and asking for shower caps.

Large variety of options at breakfast.

Our honeymoon was completely ruined by our stay at this hotel, which was filled with issues from start to finish. What should have been a special, once-in-a-lifetime experience turned into frustration and disappointment.First off, the hotel allows non-guests to use the pool through guest passes, which led to major overcrowding, slow service and loud enviroment. To make matters worse, Egyptian geese use pool area, leaving excessive amounts of poo both in the water and around the seating areas. It was disgusting, unhygienic, and made relaxing by the pool impossible. The cleanliness of our room was just as appalling. After discovering hair in the bath, we were moved—only to find pubic hair in the second room’s bath as well. This showed a serious lack of attention to detail and hygiene.Guest services were useless. When we asked for help securing a restaurant reservation, they failed to assist us, forcing us to make the booking ourselves. The lack of communication between staff also led to billing errors and constant confusion throughout our stay. The unprofessionalism of the staff was shocking. We were referred to as "hubby of the year" and even asked, “Where would you like the alcohol to hit?”—comments that were completely inappropriate and not what we expected from a supposedly high-end hotel.Even small details were overlooked. Our balcony chairs were the only ones without cushions, and despite being told we had been upgraded, we were simply placed in the same room category we had originally booked.Perhaps most alarming was the major privacy breach—our in-room TV displayed the personal information of other guests. This was completely unacceptable and a serious security issue. This hotel completely failed us and turned what should have been a dream honeymoon into a stressful nightmare. They desperately need to improve their cleanliness, professionalism and communication.

This is an amazing hotel! The staff are fantastic, the interiors, the location, the food.. all amazing! Probably the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had.

Rooms are expensive although our room was worth the view!

-The location was perfect and right by the V&A.-Our room was large and beautiful .we got the Island room-Loved the complementary tote and face caps .-Toiletries were 100%, done to a full pouch manicure pouch !-the VIEWS were breathtaking! Everywhere was amazing!- the WhatsApp chat to the team of Hosts- anything you needed was done promptly through that chat!- THE SPA !!!!!

Not much as minor issues where quickly resolved by the hosts who are like a group of butlers
