Compass House

Compass House is run by people who really understand 5-star comfort for their clients. The place is perfectly located in bantry Bay, with a beautiful sea view. It is absolutely serene; even the selected music adds to the 'zen' kind of atmosphere. The whole 'house', the staff's politeness and service reminded me of the top boutique hotels in Switzerland or Italy, excellent! Rooms like luxury cabanas, out of a 60s Hollywood movie but with the most modern facilities. Big inviting pool with super view of the ocean. Breakfast: Both selections offered and service immaculate. Ready to stay there again, when in Cape Town. Would recommend it unconditionally, to the connoisseurs of luxury small hotels.

There is no gym at the moment. However, one is being created, as I was informed, and will be ready early next year. Not much else to complain about.

The staff were incredible. So kind, thoughtful, accommodating, and provided exceptional service. The breakfast was also delicious! The views were wonderful, especially when considering the comparable prices for the area, sadly a huge crane blocked the sunset, but that wasn't their fault. If there was another deal, I would happily stay here again for the people, view, and breakfast.

While we loved the view from the room and it was overall nicely appointed, it was long and narrow, which made it hard to sometimes maneuver. And there were some quirks like the lighting / switches, or for instance, the shower head was at chest height, meaning you had to always hold it to wash, and a few other things, but nothing that wouldn't have us come back. We did get a good deal, but if we stayed here at the full rate I may have been a little more disappointed.

The cottage had a wonderful view of the sea from the private terrace.It was a nice touch to have canapes and drinks every evening.The staff was very attentive and helpful. The morning and evening managers were super pleasant and welcoming.

I loved everything about it. The location, the view, the staff, and the proximity to many things. The staff made me feel very welcome and I also felt very secure there. Would definitely stay here again if I was back in the area!

Delightful quiet and spacious boutique hotel 5 mins drive from Camps Bay and Seapoint. The room was extremely comfortable, and the pool deck fantastic for a day soaking up the sun and admiring the ocean view. Johan, Gerhard and the staff were superb and couldn't do enough to help. Highly recommended !

Perfect location, views and warmest hosts .

This hotel was amazing. The views were great, it’s in a great location (near Clifton beach and Camps Bay) and also near the city, the staff were brilliant… honestly could not fault it. Oh, and the breakfast… wow! Starting every day on the balcony with that breakfast was something special. Just awesome!

What an amazing welcome and stay from Johan and his amazing team at this beautiful location. Our family enjoyed the spectacular pool, food and drinks and wonderful service!What a fabulous stay !!

Fabulous staff. Especially the manager ( Johann) who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Breakfasts were great and the view over the infinity pool to the ocean was perfect for sun downers.

Fantastic location overlooking Bantry BayEverybody was really professional and super friendly, they looked after my wife who was unwellBreakfast was amazing, lots of fresh fruit, breads, pastries and over 10 types of Jam, with the ability to choose hot dishes from the menu with Mimosa, Bellini or Bloody Mary!

Just incredible from start to finish - the hospitality, the facilities, the views and the food. We will return!

What an amazing property and staff! We've travelled a lot, but this stay was by far the best boutique hotel we ever stayed in. The staff paid attention to every details and made sure we were comfortable! The carrot cake is a killer, you must try it during snack hour and some tea to enjoy in front of the pool and see view.

The location is superb up high overlooking the ocean. The breakfasts are amazing and the staff all want to help you with everything and are super friendly.

What a fantastic find! The hotel is very tastefully appointed and your every wish is catered for by the exceptional staff. Johan and Gerhard are outstanding front of house leads. Rooms are beautiful. Pool and cabana beds are very clean and the honesty bar all adds to the home away from home vibe. Breakfasts are really good too.

The staff are amazing, as is the service and the public facilities which are great and very tasteful. The team cannot do enough for the guests, and for the reasons given we couldn't fault the overall experience.This comes with a but....

The Cottage room is a converted garage and thats how it feels. Access is via a very narrow spiral staircase. Definitely not suitable for people with mobility issues.The room is tiny - actually cramped and as it is so narrow there's no room for bedside tables. Power sockets were limited and not in useful locations. This made recharging cameras and phones difficult.There are no irons and the site offer a wash, dry and and iron service but the cost for wash, dry and fold laundry was more expensive than a high end hotel wash and press which came as a surprise and felt excessive. Please avoid this service if not essential. Please also avoid this room if you can afford the upgrade.

The view is spectacular and is very peaceful, relaxing, spacious. The staff are wonderful led by Johan.

Compass House is a beautiful hotel with spacious, cool bedrooms and in a convenient location with a stunning view of the ocean. Breakfast is superb and a sandwich lunch can be ordered in. But it is the staff who make a stay here so relaxing and enjoyable. They just go the extra mile to ensure every guest is looked after. They are remarkable.

Sadly I was too nervous to access the wonderful pool (without a shallow end ) because of ankle injury - but my husband loved it!
