    Pros +

    • Great location within walking distance to many restaurants, V&A and the stadium!
    • The breakfast
    • From the time of arriving to us checking out, staff was just great. Facility well kept, every where we walked in the hotel that nice smell followed us. We missed out on the breakfast as we woke up to late.

    Cons -

    • The iron wasnt working and housekeeping ddnt replace it on time
    • The main shortcoming, raised repeatedly by guests during breakfast conversations, was the buffet offering. As Hindus, we are vegan on certain days and on other days consume only chicken, with no beef or pork. While the chef kindly prepared soya, it was presented as the sole vegan protein option throughout our stay. Repeating the same soya dish on every vegan day was neither reasonable nor appropriate, particularly given that this was a paid buffet breakfast that should have offered genuine variety. In practice, the options amounted to soya, chicken sausage, or chicken livers, with little else available.More broadly, the buffet lacks diversity and thoughtful rotation. Vegan selections were limited to soya, plain pumpkin, or mushroom and eggplant dishes that were largely under-seasoned and uninspired. Several guests seated near us raised identical concerns, making it clear this is a recurring issue rather than an isolated preference. This feedback requires more than acknowledgment. The food manager and culinary team should implement substantive menu revisions. Ongoing repetition of the same complaints without visible change points to a failure in quality control and guest responsiveness.Another point worth noting is the absence of a microwave. While I understand this may be a Garden Court–wide policy, it is disappointing. Many lower-star and higher-end hotels provide this basic amenity. Its absence stands out and reflects poorly on the brand given current guest expectations.Charging guests separately for Garden Court parking was disappointing and felt unreasonable for a hotel of this category.Lastly, guests are not permitted to eat takeaway food in the common waiting areas while waiting for rooms, which was impractical and unnecessarily restrictive.
    • The lack of built in charging stations for cell phone etc inside the room and no dressing table area I did not like.

My husband and I stayed at Garden Court Victoria Junction (V&A area). Overall, the stay was pleasant, comfortable, and well managed, supported by genuinely friendly and attentive staff.A sincere thank you to Achuma and Jade at the front desk, who were welcoming, efficient, and thoughtful throughout our stay, including ensuring our room was ready and arranging a lovely birthday message and piece of cake for my husband. Zetu from housekeeping was exceptional, consistently friendly and attentive, and ensured our room was kept to a high standard. A special mention as well to the concierge/security guards who were consistently present, courteous, and proactive in assisting guests with lifts and luggage.I appreciated how spacious and clean both the room and bathroom were. The in-room amenities were practical and well maintained, including a mini fridge, kettle, hairdryer, ironing board and iron. The TV and air conditioning were adequate and functioned as expected, contributing to a comfortable stay.

The dinner I ordered via room service - Hamburger and chips was superb . compliments to the chef .

The lack of built in charging stations for cell phone etc inside the room and no dressing table area I did not like.

Breakfast, room and location was just great

I did not appreciate being informed upon arrival that I had to pay for parking, which is not included in the package or my booking.

It was clean was at a great location and staff was helpful overall great hotel with great service and at a great location with decent pricing

For some reason there was lack of spoon (they were available just not at the table) at breakfast always even though they offer cereal which I thought was odd. 2. The AC was always turning on and off and didn’t seem to provide as much cooling as expected the ac kept turning high and low noise would make it hard to sleep

I stayed in the hotel for 7 nights and breakfast was more or less the same with fruits which could have been better otherwise the location and efficiency was okey.

The location, comfort of the bed and location

All the facilities were up to date and the staff were all very helpful.

Food service was slow but the taste and quality were first rate.

Modern, very clean rooms, secure parking, great location in walking distance to waterfront and other attractions. Excellent staff, especially Happy and Lathitha in the dining room. Decent food.

Heavy use of highly perfumed air freshener makes the fitness Centre/gym unusable! Simply too much air freshener up on residential floors too!!

No provision of multi plugs for charging in rooms

    8MohamedPosted on: 12-25-2025

Location was very good and close to everything Room is spacious Nice pool Lovely security men Breakfast had the essentials

1 - can’t believe there’s no electric plug to charge your phone next to the bed , you have unplug the phone in an adjacent plug to charge your phone 2- air conditioner sound is too loud especially once it fires up multiple times3- in my one week stay , not one time did any of the staff ever say hello or greet me ! Even when I was taking my luggage and leaving no one said have a safe trip ! They just look you in the eye and ignore you ! The only people who were genuinely nice were the security guys 4- first time ever in a hotel when I check in that the staff don’t even bother to ask you anything about your trip , if you need help with daily excursions etc , just no effort at all ! It was truly shocking . Everyone looked just miserable and were there just to finish their “9-5” shift , all business no hospitality!5- a four star hotel and you can’t provide shampoo and conditioner ? Not even hotel slippers ? Considering you’re a 4 star hotel , the above was very disappointing , in 2 or 3 star hotels I’ve stayed at in south east Asia the staff are always welcoming , a bit of staff education would help !!!

Good, varied breakfast, walking distance location to V&A, helpful staff and overall - a good place to stay. The bar had good prices, the restaurant was ok and we could leave our suitcases before the check in and it felt safe!

not sure ab the pool as I havent seen it, but all well!

Staff were very kind and ready to help especially Asemahle and another lady who assisted with idea's/solution for a last minute booking to the wine estates. Good value considering I had stayed at one of their sister hotel where I paid more.

Beautiful - and fun - spaces. Day time front desk staff was awesome. Super kind and helpful. Breakfast was delicious with a very good assortment on offer.

Good location to see much of Cape Town - walking distance to both the City Center and the Harbor area. Reasonable breakfast.

We ran the hot water for a shower for 30 minutes and then called the front desk. They sent a technician and he did something and pretty soon we had hot water. Fortunately, we did not have a time crunch. The second morning, we had hot water immediately. Overall, the hotel needs more maintenance.
