    Pros +

    • I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately found the overall experience disappointing, especially considering the price. The rooms are quite outdated and not well maintained — for example, my door didn’t even close properly, which felt both inconvenient and unsafe. The general condition of the hotel doesn’t reflect the rate being charged; it really needs some renovation and better upkeep.I want to highlight that the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout my stay.
    • I keep coming back to camps bay and there bay hotel is a great location as a base. They have upgraded the gym and there are more options at breakfast this year. Top tip, enjoy your sundowners at caamils bar, tishane will look after you and the view is amazing. My one feedback would be that I’m a returning customer and that never seems to count for anything as far as rewards.

All great except the room but we knew it wasn’t going to be a good room as the price was cheaper than the other rooms.

The hot water supply to the rooms took forever to come through and was temperamental.

The location is amazing, it’s clearly a hotel with a history of being a glam place to be seen. The spa is also lovely.

The adventure pad rooms are just random spaces converted into bedrooms (ours was the boardroom and still is advertised as a boardroom online so the room is not really ‘converted’ as such, more they’ve wheeled out the main table and in a bed. As such, there aren’t plugs by the bed or bedside lamps or even curtains, just metal shutters that absolutely don’t shut light out (and several of which are broken so no privacy as you’re ground floor looking out over the employee walkways so everyone can see in unless the shutters are closed). From reading reviews however sounds like we got one of the better rooms. My main issue was some of the staff (predominantly reception) however, I’m not sure if you get worse treatment as you’re in the ‘cheap seats’ (although not cheap enough for the compromise in my opinion!) but aside from a few lovely people working at breakfast and by the pool it felt like they couldn’t care less. Reception checked us in two hours late as the room wasn’t ready and offered nothing but a sorry, when my husband pushed they said they’d give a bottle of wine which never showed up… However one day the housekeeping came to make our bed and left the shutters fully open and a massive waist level window entirely open!!! Anyone could have climbed in as the walkway outside the window is not private. I was really upset about this and when telling reception they honestly could not care less. Not the standard of a 5* hotel at all!!!!

Everything. Beautiful hotel, with amazing staff. It was the height of luxury right on the beach with beautiful swimming pools and facilities. Great secure parking. Amazing buffet breakfast. Gorgeous rooms with plenty of space. Can't wait to go back.

    Everything was perfect

Location? Pool area outside with view, breakfast and lovely personnel

We had a rather old fashion room but the bed was of good quality

The views, the staff, the breakfast

The shower spreads water everywhere but still a great shower

Hotel is always amazing. Staff are friendly and attentive. Facilities and location are great.

Breakfast is limited for halaal and non beef and pork consumers. More variety and attention should be given to all guests from all cultures and religions. The breakfast service was also ameture at best. Long waits, tasteless and overcooked food(shocking since its basic items like eggs). No attention paid to provisions for non dairy consumers yet this is supposed to be a 4 star graded hotel. Lastly, we had no running hot water and several leaks in the room. However this isnt the fault of the hotel, as they managed to provide us with a new room, but only on the last night of our stay. This set a glum tone to holiday in general.

The Bay hotel is an amazing hotel in a gorgeous location. Great service and the bed was really comfortable.

Nothing. The room of the Adventure Pad was absolutely lovely. The reason why it’s much cheaper than an ordinary room is because there is no view. One keeps the curtains closed. But if you don’t mind that the room is stunning!

The hotel and facilities are beautiful. Really centrally located. Beautiful pools with Ocean and Mountain views. Really a beautiful place to spend a couple of days. Highly recommend if your not in the adventure pad.

The adventure pad is well apportioned and comfortable. A couple of things about it aren't great. Your view is mostly of a dilapidated old staircase (I guess that is reflected in the comparatively low price). The hot water takes forever, and the shower taps aren't marked for hot or cold positions, so you are not sure if it's just slow or if you have the tap in the wrong position. It is a serious waste of water. The TV remote didn't work which they replaced, and it worked. The cherry on top was the noise from what I think was an adjacent hotel kitchen staff having loud conversations all the way to midnight, which was a big disappointment. So don't expect to get a lot of sleep. If you are out on the town till late it is most likely not a problem.

Cleanliness, friendly staff from gate till in the hotel, comfortable beds, food massage

    Nothing it was exceptional

    Passable

Service in the Bistro was very slow waiting for 1 hour for a sandwich.

    10TatendaPosted on: 4-23-2024

The staff was kind and helpful and the property is close to the beach and restaurants

Just the hot water issue but they advised us to run the hot water 30min prior to showering since the property was fully booked and the water took time to reach other rooms

    Breakfast and location was excellent.

Be prepared to wake up early as the pickle ball courts are right in front of your window.

SUPERB STAY!Beautiful hotel, attention to detail, fantastic pools, breathtaking views! Everything was top class. Our room overlooked the paddle court and had beautiful views of the mountain, stylish bathroom and very comfortable bed, pretty room. Highly recommended!! Would love to stay again, it really is an exceptional establishment. Safe parking within the hotel grounds. Fantastic romantic getaway for me and my husband. A special thank you to Rucille, Tinashe, Roa-Anne and the friendly lady at reception for top class customer service.

    don’t recommend

we arrived at the hotel and the music from the beachclub was extremely loud. so loud we couldn’t hear what the man on the parking was telling us. It was an exaggerated and annoying electronic music that did not fit the ambiance and the hour.once we arrived at our room, it smelled like weed. it was so strong that the air conditioning was turned on.

The ambiance and location were great. Right on the beach road and very modern yet classic!

The roof made loud noises with the strong 41kmh winds bashing against the sea and the resort.
