Pros +
- The room was very beautiful for the value and the rooftop was very nice.
- Great, very central location. Staff were, without exception, welcoming and helpful. Good food. All in all, a good choice for our first visit to Cape Town.
- Downtown Downtown Cape Town. Lots of markets and lots of panhandlers.
Cons -
- The surrounding areas can be a little dodgy.
- Their water policy needs revision: 11 nights and only one bottle of complimentary water does not meet current industry standards. The smell in the hallway (old/wet rug) was not inviting. The elevators were a little scary.
- Location is not great for walking at night.

The best thing about the hotel is the staff. They were very helpful, polite and accommodating. They gave tips on how to stay safe and kept an eye out for us when we were walking in the area. The receptionists and servers were also great. We enjoyed the breakfast. The room was spacious enough for two people with 6 bags to move around easily and not feel cramped. The location was great for walking or taking a short Uber ride to popular spots. Special shout out to Sebastian and the other men out front, as well as the male receptionist (forgot his name) who helped with our requests.

Rooms were comfortable, super clean, and very nice. The restaurant was surprisingly delicious for both dinner and breakfast! Staff all around was lovely
Location is not great for walking at night.
Beautiful building. High ceilings and large rooms.
Air conditioning didn’t work (hotel was fully booked though - so in their defence they couldn’t move me to another room). There was no hair dryer in the room. The coffee machine wasn’t working - this was an issue with the plug point, I had to move it across the room to a different socket to get it working. The breakfast was pretty bland.
Liked the location and reception area - nice for breakfast and late afternoon drinks. Hotel probably more suited for leisure. Was there for work so did not spend a lot of time at the hotel.
Great location , central, and was very safe.
I could not access the local channels easily was the only thing, otherwise everything else great
It was good alleyway was noisy
It was good , room had to be change because of sewage smell
staff were fabulous.
the fact that half the hotel was being renovated and we did not know ahead of time. V disappointing to hear the work going on during the day.
Central, very clean and secure. Excellent staff, lovely big room
The hotel was nice. Beautifully decorated. The staff were exceptional. Everyone was eager to ensure that my needs were met from making sure my meals were just right to ensuring I got in and out of my Uber okay.
There wasn’t an iron in the room. I had to call down daily for the iron. A few nights it was loud outside and it disturbed my sleep. The hotel is located on St. George’s Mall, which is a downtown square with vendors. The old windows are beautiful but don’t do much to insulate from noise & rattle periodically when the wind blows.
Nice big rooms, comfortable beds, modern bathroom

Excellent location, room and services. Breakfast was very diverse and good as was restaurant for dinner. A lot of options for food nearby.
The location and staff were friendly.
They did not provide slippers, and the soap and shampoo quality was low. Valet parking was inconvenient.
The location and our room were great but it was the staff who made it exceptional. They were very helpful and responsive.

Beautiful old building in CBD, unique reception, dining & bar on the 8th floor with rooms on lower floors. Beautiful restored room giving off a “loft vibe”.
We loved the hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The shower was great. Location excellent. The staff was wonderful: friendly and helpful including accompanying me to the ATM and finding a good driver. We would definitely recommend the Old Bank and would stay again.
No complaints at all.
Attentive staff, spacious and nicely laid out rooms, decent breakfast, good alternative to the hotels on the waterfront, very large bathroom
The rooms are very dark, my window didn't close properly, can be quite noisy if your room looks onto the street, dinner options quite limited, unpleasant smell in the bathroom which the cleaning ladies tried to overcome with heavy room perfume
The breakfast was tasty. The staff were helpful.
The coffee could have been better.
