    Pros +

    Cons -

    • WARNING! This is not like a usual hotel, the concept is more like a HOSTEL. Shared bathrooms! Not all the rooms have a private bathroom, I think 90% of the rooms have to share the bathrooms. Once we found out about this (it was our fault to miss this information), we were shocked. It is a 3 STAR hotel and we were not expecting just 1 room. We wanted ttay one night instead of all 3 nights, and we wanted to stay at another hotel for this obvious reason. They said it is impossible as it is against their POLICY, and we were forced to stay there, paid for an extra amount for the 2 nights. We have decided to leave the hotel after 2 nights, had let them know about this and they had sold the room immediately. By the way, the beds are extremely uncomfortable, the windows are not well insulated and you can feel the cold air if you are sleeping by the window. The hotel management cares only about money, not about the custormer satisfaction. We were extremely unhappy about this trip.
    • Small room. Very expensive
    • The bed was a little soft for my liking

    Helpful staff and clean accommodation

    Small room. Very expensive

    10HaruPosted on: 12-23-2025

The room is quite specious, the distance to the harbour where all tour activities gathering is also very near ,just 6 minutes walk by taking the stairs which is in front of the hotel, one road below. They have a machine for you to arrange taxis early or in real time too. Very convenient

    8PaigePosted on: 12-21-2025

Cookies! Also, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect (but the road there is icy -- see attached pic -- so we highly recommend having spikes to cover your shoes especially for the way to/from the hotel, but also for other things you're likely to do in and around Tromso)

The bed was a little soft for my liking

    10ellaPosted on: 12-15-2025

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The shower was AMAZING. The staff was so accommodating.

    10AnnemariePosted on: 12-14-2025

Staff were so welcoming and accommodating and the shared dining/lounge space was really cozy and nice. The room was fine but the shower was a little tiny. All in all it was a great stay and would recommend to anyone solo traveling. The location was fantastic also! Walking distance to everything

Common amenities like hall, kitchen, Tea, Coffee biscuits

One bathroom , One shower on a floor. I did not have any problems though.

Great location, hotel and the staff are amazing

Last 2 nights a smell was in the bathroom

We got two bads instead of the requested twin. The heater was broken. The window was open at the moment we got in.Some lights were broken. An icy night before the flight home.I didn't notice in time that there was a parking fee. Booking poorly filtered out the "free parking" option. The hotel is in a nice place, but considering the above circumstances, it's not worth that price.

    8KauffmanPosted on: 10-14-2025

Quiet, clean, and our room was nice and secluded.

Showers turned cold after only a few minutes. We tried waiting till no one was showering for a long time, thinking it would give the heater more time, but still was the same.

Our 3-bed room is quite small but cozy and functional. The room and toilet are nice and clean. We have a nice mountain view from our room. There is a shared kitchen in the ground floor which has everything you need to use for cooking. The hotel staff is really friendly.

I think the afforadable price and room match well, no complaints for better quality.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel. The staff were very responsive and helpful throughout. The kitchen was fully equipped, which made it easy and convenient to cook during our stay. Oliver was especially approachable and kind, he gave us great tips on where to see the northern lights and even helped us arrange taxis. The room was comfortable, and daily cleaning kept everything fresh. Overall, I liked it so much and would definitely recommend it!

kitchen & dinning room seemed to be good and on my request, the staff found me some cooking oil. Staff were friendly even not that much professional for managment of this airbnb.

upon my arrival on 13th., September, no staff was working in the reception then I had to carry my baggage to go to Enter Viking for check-in after making a call on a very steep slope path down and up, that was very bad! No one asked me to pay the parking fee even I stayed for 10 nights at this property but I was asked to pay the said parking fee by email after I returned back from Tromso to Vancouver, Canada. The worst thing I dislike is NO one tell me how much is the parking fee when I stay at this property otherwise I could find out some other cheater parking near this property, looking like the property want to chop off the client money dishonestly . The bath room and toilet on my floor were cleaned only once per day, sometime the toilet paper was run out but no one took care of it or replace with new one, that I had to go down to the reception asking the staff to replace new one. The mirror light in my room did not work for long time and I had to ask the staff to replace it with a new light, the kitchen was cleaned once per day also, that seemed not enough because in some other properties in Canada or USA, usually, the community kitchen must be cleaned at least three times per day, which shows poor management of the property. The mini refrigerator in the dining room is too small to hold all guests stuffs! Very very poor and weak WIFI at this property! It would be my first time and last time to be this property guest.

    9Toni-TinoPosted on: 9-25-2025

The room is cozy and spacious. The hotel is located in the city center of tromso just by walk.

There is no lift in case you have to carry heavy baggage to the higher floor.

    6ahmedPosted on: 9-11-2025

Location is perfect and right next to downtown

No reception at all I thought it’s only at night that they don’t have anyone at the reception as the property people told me so I had to check in at Viking hotel and get the key from there then walk to the hotel dragging my bag however in my entire stay the reception was always closed. Only one washing machine in the laundry room and it was out of service.

    8KarenPosted on: 6-27-2025

The property is within walking distance of the main sights, a supermarket, restaurants and cafes. The bed was comfortable me and the shower was hot. The kitchen was well equipped. Only a microwave was missing.

The curtains were very thin. Not only did they let light in 24 hours during the midnight sun people passing by could also look in. This is an easy fix.

Comfortable place with nice common areas. They offered coffee, tea, and cookies, which was a lovely touch. The staff was friendly and helpful!

Good location, good common spaces, basic facilities in the room (bring your own shampoos and detergents, hairdryer only available at the reception).
