Protea Hotel Pretoria Loftus Park

All was good including location, staff, restaurant, breakfast!

Halal food not available at resturants, however the staff was supportive and gave me omelet which was halal

The food from room service was exceptional and you are close to a checkers and Woolies to purchase additionals during your stay.

We had to switch rooms 3 times in a 24 hour period due to lack of maintenance and cleaning. The first time we requested to move as grout was missing between tiles and mould was plenty in the showers. The second time was due to a water leak from the shower that was flooding the room. It’s also advertised they have a fitness center on premises but they don’t. You have to purchase a voucher for R190 per visit to go to the Virgin Active next door. I was told through a conversation on Booking.com with a staff member that have meeting rooms available. When I enquired with the staff at reception they looked confused and said “no they do not - we can use the private dining room for it”. By the last day, you could also see the same dishes were being saved somewhere and bought back out as the croissants and fruit were stale and tasteless. So dissapointed with the whole experience. Everytime we spoke with a staff member they had different answers to the same question. It seems they aren’t trained up the same as no one knows what’s going on. I’ve visited other Marriot hotels and never had such a poor experience.

Nice shopping plaza with a Checkers and Woolworths a few steps away from the hotel for food and other needs, a laundry service, restaurants, and biltong shop too. A safe area, convenient to University of Pretoria, Hatfield Gautrain station, and more. Very friendly and helpful front-desk staff, and same for the dining room crew at breakfast.

The room doors are VERY heavy, and resist opening to the extent that I cut my arm on a nail-like device meant to hold the "privacy please" or "room clean" signs. The staff promptly supplied bandaids though!

The breakfast was absolutely delicious. Plenty of options to choose from.

The toilet had a sewage smell when I arrived

Accomodation was comfortable and food was great. The hotel was located at a perfect place making itv easy for me to commute to my work point.

The lady that looked after my booking and pre-stay queries was excellent ! The staff on the ground were not so nice. A little bit pushy.

Excellent clean rooms, Friendly staff and Great food. Honestly the hotel stay is Perfect for a solo traveller for business or for leisure. A great location surrounded by activities and great food spots where a wide variety is always on offer. Pretty and very helpful ladies working the front desk too. ;)

Stay was fine

I paid for my stay via Booking.com but then got an email from the hotel asking me to pay again. So I paid twice for one night. Reception told me I would be emailed to get refunded but I have not received anything.

It's convenient. There's shops and restaurants around so you have access to everything.

The room had a foul smell inside

The hotel is well located with a fairly comfortable and clean room.

My room near the lifts was noisy and there were some maintenance issues.

our checking time was at 14:00we could only booked in at 16:00 because the rooms wasnt clean yet but still book in time is at 14:00 thn you want to book in at 14:00 because of the late book in we could go and explore before the rugby game 17:00 and it was my first time at loftus so i misses out alot

The hotel is clean, good and well located. The room offered all facilities. The breaksfast and restaurant had a good menu and the staff was attentive.

It was not clear where to park as we drove to the entrance. No one directing or welcoming you. We ended up parking at the worst place just across the entrance but with a one meter concrete wall between reception and our car. We arrived at 4. At 8 35 our trekking device was tampered with. However we were busy celebrating. So we did not notice. Car is possibly across the border by now.

Easily accessible and in a very convenient location with restaurants and food stores.

Hotel was nice very modern. I don’t think the pools in the right place. As people is eating their dinner and people will swimming right next to you didn’t really work.
