Valet and Receptionist were awesome, the hotel is clean and the interior of the hotel is modern and of high standards

The breakfast was horrible and of low standards, two ladies working at the omelet station needs more training, and the scones recipe needs some improvements for a classy hotel like Protea hotel, we only drank our coffee and juices as the food was horribl

The hotel phone number did not go through despite several calls. The wait staff were overwhelmed at breakfast due to large number of guests

Restaurant experience was awful. Friday evening went downstairs for dinner. No waiter/waitress attended to me. Tried to grab their attention and all kept indicating they are coming back. Was there for over an hour. The restaurant didn’t look full.

The Property is clean however the carpet had a bit of a smell it the passage , Maybe they should consider opening the windows for fresh air .

The air conditioner was not working , they came and assisted still the same , it was a very cold and rainy day so you can imagine how cols it was in the room .

What's NOT to like?! Staff are hospitality professionals, the food are out of this world, and the rooms are built with comfort and convenience in mind. We had an INCREDIBLE stay! Thank you, Fire & Ice!

Room is clean, big enough for one person to live in, just feel a little bit cold at night. There's to be a barbecu party outside at night, and the music is a little bit too loud. But In general , the travel and living experience is good.

Thank you Protea Fire & Ice Menlyn for an amazing time and you have exceeded my expectations. Even though we came to attend the Kenny G show, the venue impressed us even more. The room was comfortable, clean and when checkout time came, we checked out and stayed another couple of hours. The entertainment area and dining room was clean and well maintained. The star performance and what made everything perfect were the staff. They are polite, attentive, friendly, respectful and helpful. Please keep it up.I cannot stop talking about the amazing time we had at your venue. Thank you for making it so special as it was part of my birthday gift.

The lighting in the bathroom area is too dim. Unable to apply make-up or anything else and had to make use of guest bathrooms on the ground floor.

Need more tv channels like Netflix. More coffee, tea, sugar, etc. Stock up bar fridge.

My wife stayed over at your Protea hotel in Pretoria on 29 and 30 August, what an horrible experience.. Firstly she was given the wrong room with a double bed and I booked a room with 2 single beds for her and her lady friend. When my wife went to reception the lady there was very very rude and unprofessional towards her. After more than one hour they eventually got the room I booked for them. Then you reception lady said the booking was only for the 29th of August, but my wife showed her the booking for 2 nights which includes the night of 30 August. But your wonderful reception lady just said it is not her problem and that she needs to pay extra for the 30th of August.. My wife was very confused, but she did pay R2800 extra for the night of 30 August. So now in Total we paid R7958.80 for 2 nights and an additional R2800 extra for the 30th that was already paid, it worked out almost R11, 000 for 2 nights, that is bloody ridiculous. I have the booking that confirms payment for 29 and 30 August which I've paid using booking.com and is attached to this email. This is uncalled for, poor service from your staff. I need an explanation from your reception lady that worked on the 29th of August why she was so rude, unprofessional and unhelpful. Please have a look into this matter and also I need a refund for R2800 which my wife had to pay extra.

The location is easily accessible and close to many other places of entertainment like the Sunbet Arena, as well as very close to the Mall.

The room I booked in didn't have a long mirror to look at the full body, if they can consider adding it especially next to the bathroom.

Hotel staff was very friendly and professional. We ordered in room dining, and the food arrived exactly 25 minutes as said. We ate the salmon and it was perfectly cooked without bones. Highly recommend.

The halls were a bit dark, but it was just because of all the gray and black tones of the hotel. It is beautiful during the day.

Everything about the hotel, their rooms are very clean, the breakfast exceptional especially the fat cakes and Artchaar, you feel at home when you are booked at Fire and Ice Hotel.

Excellent breakfast spread, room spotless.

TV on button for the remote didnt work - but that was it.

It was great. However, your checkout key system locked me out for the second time before checkout timeI was there in February 2025, and it did the same, also the bed was not comfortable at all.
