    Cons -

    • I was a bit surprised that guests had to pay for sheets & pillowcases. I stayed in "Hostel international" in Oslo and those were included free of charge
    • Kitchen was so busy and the sink was terrible
    • The room is very small and the beds are not comfort.

Great community vibe. Great view over the city. Amazing staff.

The facilities are a bit old. I was in a room with a bunk bed and one could see that everything was purchased many years ago. The bathroom was also quite old.

    Amazing view of Bergen!

The blankets and pillows were not clean and VERY used and uncomfortable.

Great location and really liked it. i would be back. Staffs are very helpful and kind, rare to see im hostels these days.

It would be nice if the breakfast could be started a bit earlier but I don't want to cause extra stress to the staff since they might have to travel from far and this might disrupt their travel plans

    I am generally satisfied.

Sometimes when you find yourself in need of some service after closing hours, maybe a door code is not working and you are outside trying to get in. It took me once close to 30 min, before I got help through their telephone. This just happened once though.

Great staff and volunteers who went out of their way to promote socialization amongst guests and to share info on local hikes and sightseeing opportunities.

    Safe. Clean.

A little bit far away from center city, 25-30 minutes by bus but it was easy.

The view of Bergen from the mountain is beautiful, the room is warm and comfortable, and the public areas are large and very convenient.

The water heater has a small hot water capacity, and there won't be enough hot water for two people to take a shower consecutively. Other than that, I can't think of any other drawbacks.

it provides breakfast, which is nice. The staff is nice. Free car park.

The kitchen is full of rubbish and dirty and smells. The place is not located in central, but we drove a car and need a free carpark, which the hostel could provide.

Hotel was up on the hillside overlooking the city of Bergen but easy to reach by bus only a ten minute walkaway from the hostel . A 7 day bus and tram pass which includes tram to the airport costs approx £10.The place is lively , with friendly and informative staff and with a friendly ,inclusive atmosphere with ages ranging from teenagers to pensioners from all over the world . There is a well stocked supermarket five minutes away. The room was basic but clean and functional and there is a large communal kitchen with several cookers sinks and worktops to cook and prepare your own food . There are also leisure areas and communal rooms with games , television etc. Breakfast was great with unlimited tea , coffee and a well stocked buffet bar.

You have rent bed sheets , pillow cases and duvet covers or bring your own in your luggage . no TV or kettle in room , but available in the communal areas.

Social hostel with good common spaces and great staff/volunteers. Kitchen was adequately sized for the number of guests with a variety of additional seating in other rooms. Luggage storage available with locking cabinets which I used after checkout.

This was a 10/10 hostel for me. The only thing I found a little annoying was the bright, emergency exit sign in the 18-bed dorm room. I’d imagine this is a safety requirement, but it keeps the whole room lit so you might want to pack ear plugs and an eye shade for this one.

Clean, comfortable, quiet and in a beautiful location.

    10YulingPosted on: 9-18-2025

It’s on the hill, you can have amazing view of Bergen city. It took sometime to the city, not a big deal, there’s a bus station nearby.

The upper bunk bed in mix dorm is bit scary, there’s no any protection on both sides of the bed. If you move or roll around when you sleep, you could fall.

    10MerlePosted on: 9-16-2025

Great overlook of the city. Staff always pleasant and knowledgeable! Guests have varied backgrounds, from all over the world. And, very enthusiastic about their travels

    8KarenPosted on: 9-13-2025

    Clean

Free breakfast could have been better. No tv. Uncomfortable, lumpy pillows.

    8ShirleyPosted on: 9-10-2025

amazing view from the mountain. in general, great stay! amazing breakfast too.

needed a bit hike to the top but i actually didn't expect that. a bit unfriendly to people (like me) with little injury condition. but it's doable to rent a scooter and climb to the top. just didn't know the first day when i arrived. I booked a mixed dorm bed but i had only one upper bed left when i got there. there was no side rail so i was really worried to roll off the bed at night. i think it would be nicer if we can have a upper/lower bed preference survey before the arrival? :(

The location, facilities, connectivity and the vibe of the hostel was great. The value for money was amazing. The view was great and was very close to the ulriken hike. It was clean and had breakfast included which was one of the best parts.

    Everything was amazing
