Lack of parking in the area

The location is in perfect area - everything is reachable by walking. And the hotel itself is stunning, the gym is very quiet and cute, the SPA facilities were great, after a loooong and cold day in Bergen - that’s all you need :)

Really great location, close to everything that you would need and the station. We arrived early on the sleeper from Oslo and they managed to check us in early which was fantastic. We were also very impressed by the quality of the breakfast, which was very fresh.

Breakfast was fantastic and the location of the hotel could not be faulted with many restaurants both inside and outside the hotel. The rooms were modern, spacious and spotless.

The hotel is completely new and well taken care of. The buffet breakfast offers a wide variety of food and is definitely a 10/10. The room is clean and nicely finished, with good amenities, a TV, and comfortable bedding.

However, if it is supposed to be a 5-star hotel, it lacks some important elements expected at that level. I heard a guest asking for a toothbrush, and they didn’t have any available. There was no complimentary water in the room. I specifically mentioned that the trip was for our anniversary, but this wasn’t acknowledged at check-in or in the room (by this I mean even a simple card, not necessarily amenities). The spa is also not included for hotel guests.I’m not sure about Norwegian hotel standards, but in Europe, when a hotel is advertised as a “Hotel and Spa,” the spa is usually included. Additionally, the spa fee is definitely not cheap.

Location & Breakfast

Concrete pillar in room; nail sticking out and caused nasty cut on finger. Reported it and to be fair maintenance did file down the pillar but no apology received!Wasn’t expecting to pay to use spa but even hotel residents had to pay and no actual availability for the days we were staying there. Not much of a lounge area. Concentration was around the restaurant. Wooden headboard on bed uncomfortable if sitting up to read. Some wood panelling badly constructed.

Location short walking distance to the Bryggen. Good breakfast and quiet location.

The hotel was in a very central area, really easy to get anywhere from it. The staff was super helpful, they were always available to answer any questions or help us out with anything else.

I feel like for a 5 star hotel the breakfast selection could be bigger. What was there was very delicious, and certainly enough, but just when comparing to other hotels with 3-4 stars even, they had a much larger spread with the same quality. The spa can only be accessed by paying extra, even for quests, again for a 5 star hotel and for the price one pays per night, I would expect for this to be included. The room was very cute and comfortable, but the bathroom was tiny.

Lovely and modern hotel. Great location, just a short walk to the Fløibanen and Bryggen. Fabulous breakfast.

Our room was quite small but perfectly adequate for the two nights we were there. Would stay again.

Liked everything. Just a tip for the hotel - would be good to have coat hooks in the bedrooms and towel hooks in the bathroom. Easier to keep things today!

Location, breakfast and staff

Didn’t realise it would cost to so much use the spa and restaurant was fully booked for dinner so didn’t get to eat there.

Room had everything and what a super spa.

Staff were indifferent and lacking in training and knowledge, or possibly interest. I’m annoyed that we only found out that the spa was not included in the price after we used it. Why should we have to read the small print?! Title says hotel and spa, in my experience that means the basic spa facilities (excluding treatments) are included. Not do here, our use of the spa added significantly to the overnight cost. That said, it is fabulous, but price beware!

Stylish, central, comfortable, with excellent breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed Izakaya restaurant on the first night.

Whilst not entirely the properties fault, the rooms are supposed to be sound-proofed, as it's only under two years old, but had a neighbour with tv on late into the night and on again at 6am the next morning which was a shame the first night and disturbed us as was clearly audible.

It was unusual for me that we have to pay for the use of the spa (pool & sauna )

Great location. Easy walk to all there is to see in Bergen. We were offered to upgrade for some extra $’s and was worth it. Room was a great size for us and our luggage. Highly recommend the Izakaya restaurant for dinner.

Lovely comfortable hotel in the centre of Bergen. Beautiful Spa, excellent restaurant and really attentive and kind staff. Couldn’t fault it!
