    Pros +

    • Breakfast and dinner included which made things a lot more convenient.
    • Our stay included a buffet dinner, which was surprisingly good. Breakfast was good too.Convenient location to see the castle, cathedral, and old town.Room was nice. Elevator was helpful.
    • Sensational beds and accessing my room, completely frozen after my motorbike ride over Easter, the floor heating in the bathroom appeared to me like heaven on earth. Very friendly staff.

    Cons -

    • there was a little bit of construction going on but didn't affect our access or trip
    • Property was under construction, and you had to pass through the construction area to get to the room.
    • Under contruction. I suspect sauna is not much used as it is so big and requires swimming suit use. Would be better, if saunas and shower rooms would be offered to men and women separately.

Food was amazing as well as room with a see view.

Our room was clean and cozy. I loved how Clarion maintains the homey feeling in its hotel design. Our toilet was clean and modern which is always appreciated as I have been to more expensive hotels with moldy bathrooms. I love how there is free coffee in the hotel lobby and a small bar to cap the night. Jens, the front desk personal was lovely to talk to and assisted us from my frantic parking phone call to loaning mobile phone chargers. Kudos to great customer service!

The hotel is currently undergoing renovations and I was not keen on leaving the hotel building to get my breakfast and dinner in another building. Though it was a short walk, the cold February winter air was not too forgiving. I am sure everything will be perfrct once they move the whole dining experience in-house again.

Clean, comfortable, parking access, clean and renovated toilets, staff.

The rooms had some fan noise which was a bit annoying, but it disappeared later at night

Very helpful and friendly staff, great breakfast. Comfortable bed and good bathroom facilities. Room was right on the water and door opened to a little deck. Very nice, although the weather prevented us from fully appreciating it. Convenient to the walled town and the university.

Downsides: Small room, and shortage of storage space, we mostly lived out of a suitcase. There was a desk and chair, but the orientation made it difficult to access the bathroom or the front door when someone was sitting at the desk.Dinner was also provided with the room, and was --- meh!

Good looking rooms, with a lovely view of the harbor. Grand sauna. Breakfast and dinner were satisfactory. Parking was easy.

No between-nights service. I reported a broken light and asked for clean towels, but the very friendly staff must have forgotten. Room had a lot of beach sand on the floor, so poor cleaning.

Perfectly located a few minutes walk to Kalmar train/bus station. Efficient friendly staff. Stayed twice in a fortnight.Buffet breakfast was adequate . Self serve tea/coffee in the entry foyer at other times. Bathroom and bedroom more spacious than expected. Gymasium and relaxed hotel ambience .

Dinner selection was a bit limiting but adequate.

Quality of dinners not too great.

Good breakfast but other Comfort& Clarion hotels on this holiday have had a bigger selection

View from room was the external staircase

Amazing, caring staff. Everyone Cheerful happy and helpful I liked the generosity of the hotel, lovely to have coffee on tap and afternoon tea. Delicious breakfast!Especially liked the loose tea and fill your own teabag option. It was spotlessly clean everywhere

I would have preferred China cups in our room.

Beautiful location excellent food lovely room.

    8AngelicaPosted on: 8-13-2024

    Good location , dogs allowed

The rooms do not have AC so it is really hot at nights, also for clarion standards, is not exactly what was used to.

If you book a room at this hotel do not choose the half board option if at all possible. We did not have a choice on booking.com and paid an excessive room rate and the food, especially the evening meal was of very poor standard. Mince and burgers as part of a buffet - no a La carte. The location of the hotel is great, staff were great, parking was great, our room was great!

The half board option, in our opinion and experience, is very poor value for money. We would not take this option at this hotel again. We were very disappointed.

    10MarthaPosted on: 7-13-2024

The location is amazing, buffet menu is great, very comfortable bed, great TV set, great bathroom

Sauna was too hot, our room was quite long walk from the elevator

    8DimitriosPosted on: 6-28-2024

Good location, very close to the water, the old town and there's a shopping center and Supermarket just 100m away. The breakfast and dinner are great, although the main dish during dinner (at least for us) was some form of meat over a period of 6 days(beef, chicken, pork). Some variation, pasta or sth similar would have been a welcome break.

The rooms that face the parking lot to the mall and Supermarket get quite loud in the morning when things are brought in.If the weather is warm, or you just want to keep a window open, you will be woken up early in the day, and later in the afternoon when people go shopping.
