    Pros +

    • The fact that there's only 15 rooms and you get more preferential treatment as a guest.
    • charming, not a chain hotel but has real personality. Staff was quite helpful
    • Hotel employee at check-in performed as concierge, had genuine interest in our enjoying our stay and his city. Hotel on a lovely plaza; antiques throughout the rooms, well appointed library was a nice touch. Close to port market - the center of tourist activity.

    Cons -

    • The fact that you havr to ring their bell EVERY time you re-enter.
    • Jacuzzi on top deck would not get above 33 degrees C without pressing the timer very 10 minutes. Takes about two hours to heat up. I think these are factory settings which can be overridden. Would have been nice to enjoy night views of the city.
    • nothing to complain about:)

The staff was very helpful in all respects. We had a group of six that greatly enjoyed the rooftop space to relax at the end of a day of touring

the staff was very kind to us all the time, the breakfast is delicious and the bedrooms are clean and comfortable. Our favorite part was the study where they allowed us to stay even after we checked out.

    nothing to complain about:)

Perfect location by a park (great place to sit and chill outside hotel). Centrally located in Old Town. Great rooftop.

Super location. Great breakfasts, Themed rooms from artists of Uruguay.

The internet worked in some rooms and not in others. The staff in the mornings were not at all knowledgeable about the city or tours. The afternoon person was very helpful.

Beautiful themed hotel in the middle of the old town, not too far from the ferry. We loved our room, which was styled after the Uruguayan painter. Great-sized room, excellent shower. Enjoyed the view from the rooftop. Very kind staff - thank you for your helpful suggestions about the local restaurants. Good breakfast.

The staff were incredibly helpful. They helped us make and then change a car reservation to the airport when the airline changed our flight time late at night. We really appreciated their help.

The staff was perhaps the friendliest I’ve ever encountered in a hotel (where I have spent much of my time due to work). The hotel has true charm, the breakfast was top (not something I usually am paying too much attention to but it stood out how artfully they served my scrambled eggs!). The furnishings is not modern or new but it is part of the style and fits 100%. Bathroom facilities and library also top. I loved my one night here.

    That I could stay longer.

The property is very beautiful, super clean and an excellent location!

    I liked every thing!

Boutique hotel, excellent staff, gluten free breakfast treats, beautiful rooftop.

Location in the old city, we did not feel safe. Wish we would have chosen a different location in Montevideo.

Excellent location for walking & buses. Beautiful setting on square. 6th floor terrace for relaxing & a fantastic view. Comfortable quiet guestroom with good a/C & charming decor. Slept great all 4 nights. Lovely breakfast with fresh fruit & yogurt. Good security & super helpful multu-lingual staff.

Would have liked coffee in the room. Breakfast started at 8am.

Very tastefully decorated - everything was beautifully done, including the porcelain in China at breakfast. The beds were very comfortable, the quality of the towels were amazing. The shampoo and body lotion was great. It was absolutely a beautiful hotel. The staff were extremely welcoming, helpful, friendly, really great state. I only regret we didn’t have more time so we could enjoy it more.Breakfast was incredibly fresh varied and very high-quality products. Definitely the best breakfast we had in Uruguay . The hotel is located in the old town of the city where there’s a lot of culture, beautiful architecture, and great Wine Bar called VITIS. We walked around at night and had no problem and really enjoyed the authentic feel of this historical Neighbourhood.

There is nothing we can say about this.

We loved the look of the hotel, very pretty!

There was no coffee machine or kettle to make coffee or heat up water in our room. We did not like the fact that the hotel was locked (we assume for safety) and had to ring the bell to enter every time we went out.

    9JosephPosted on: 12-29-2024

Breakfast was excellent and location allowed us to walk to museums and restaurants.

Roof terrace was disappointing - bugs in the hot tub and not able to use.

    10JulianPosted on: 12-21-2024

Beautiful old restored house with a lovely bedroom, overlooking Plaza Zabala, close to the Buenos Aires ferry terminal. A very comfortable bed & a themed room with tasteful antique football memorabilia - ours was based on an Uruguayan footballer who played in the first ever World Cup winning team in 1930 - priceless. Breakfast was excellent, including the best muesli I have ever had in my life! The staff were magnificent - kind, helpful, intelligent, good-humoured & genuinely warm people who really made you feel comfortable & welcome. There was a beautiful library to relax in & a magnificent view of the sun setting in the Rio Plata.

Nothing - it was just perfect.

Has the home feeling of a small hotel, in front of a beautiful square. Very nice breakfast

It’s dark and almost oppressive - theres basically no social space available, only one small living room, the breakfast room is an extension of the lobby and the rooftop is a joke. Way too expensive for what is providing.

In the heart of Montevideo, the best place in ciudad vieja and centro. Very charming interior, wonderful friendly and helpful staff! Extraordinary breakfast. You feel that this hotel is run with much heart

The guestrooms are a bit small for the price. But you have a nice library

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, great breakfast. Close to the market.

We loved everything about the hotel however the surrounding location was not great
