The best thing about this hotel was the fact that the staff found my AMEX credit card several days before I noticed it was missing. It had fallen behind something in my room. They notified me and asked what I wanted to do with the card. Since I was already home in the US, I asked them to destroy it. Thanks for being honest, Cala di Volpe staff!

Laundry was extremely expensive, but nicely done.

A very nice hotel, very comfortable, excellent breakfast, near a major mall. Also, good restaurants in the area, as well as the one at the hotel.

Location - seeing sea from my bed. Renting e-bikes from hotel. Bike paths along the coast go forever- they are safe!

Rambla was a bit noisy at night.

I have gone back to this hotel for close to 20 years in my visits to Montevideo (my hometown). The location is its main asset: on the Rambla at Punta Carretas, with large windows to the Rio de la Plata at the street level restaurant (where breakfast is served). The rooms are large and the recent change to laminated floors (it was once carpeted) is very welcome.

The rooms need aggiornamento. There are not enough electrical outlets for these days. The bathroom is ok but it does not feature "vanity mirrors", which is a misnomer, since you cannot judge how good your shave is, and women cannot complete their makeup without them. My wife does not stay in hotels without this appliance and I believe I won't either in my future travels (unless I grow a beard).

the location is the best asset of this boutique hotel, which I have known for 20 years. Breakfast is served on the ground floor with large windows open to the Rio de la Plata. The offerings are very good, albeit less than a few years ago. The rooms are spacious, and the change from carpeted to laminated floors is a welcome update. The gym, although small, is well-equipped and has fantastic vistas of the River.

Vegetables (salads) are not featured in the breakfast (something shared by almost every hotel in Uruguay). The bathroom has no "vanity mirror" which is not up to current standards (I could not be sure that my shaving was thorough).

The location was superb, right on the shore with the Ramble there to walk and enjoy the sight and sounds of the River Plate

There’s nothing not to like about this property. It’s not exactly updated but the place is incredible.

We loved our stay at Cala di Volpe. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The delicious breakfast is well worth the $14 with fresh fruit, egg dishes made to order, and an espresso machine. The neighborhood is charming with several good restaurants, the beach, and a mall.

Pretty much everything was good, clean, great location... I'll try to stay there next time I am in Montevideo.

The staff were all very accommodating and helpful. Cheerful and just plain wonderful really.

The hot tub was not quite hot enough and the jets were not very strong.

The 'pool' is a large hot tub, not a pool. Still nice though.

Big clean corporate hotel with very reasonable prices for the large room provided. Well lit bathroom. Nice beach view from the room Location a bit out of the way but ten minutes in a taxi and you are in the center of town or two hour walk on the ramblas. Some nice little restaurants nearby A/C nice and strong Nice little gym

Breakfast not included but the dining room was full every day and the offerings were varied and looked good Staff attempted to be helpful but really didn’t give us good suggestions for dinner near by or activities Pool on roof is just a giant hot tub and you have to reserve it
