Pros +
- Location is good. Large comfortable room and bed. Breakfast was ok. Lovely and helpful staff.
- The room is large
- Located in the old town
Cons -
- A/c. Continuously leaking. Elevator made too much noise
- The location was scary, dust was hanging down over the bed; it was a level of dirtiness you wouldn’t expect from Wyndham quality
- This is a tired old hotel needing serious maintenance. Opening the door to my room was an adventure. The key card needed to be used dozens of times before it would work. Management said the solution was to slide it in and out super quick. Maintenance arrived and sprayed WD 40 into the slot. Neither way worked. The people across the hall had the same issue. The toilet was an unhygienic disgrace. The seat was cracked open to raw wood, paint peeled away. No way to keep it clean. Breakfast was below average. there were the standard scrambled eggs and potatoes. No Ketchup or picante sauce. Just eat it dry. There was only white bread. The toaster was broken. Only one half worked. This is a hotel that gets a Spanish tour group a day so customer choice isn't involved. I asked to change rooms, but they said I couldn't be accommodated because they were full. Wyndham has put their name on the hotel, but not any money on maintenance.

I was pleased to interact with the staff, particularly Laura, who was a great service-oriented staff member. She is and will be a great asset to this well-located hotel. She was truly on top of things despite a busy schedule at the front desk.
I suffered from allergies in my room during the whole stay despite the great efforts deployed by the staff to clean the room. I believe that the allergies were caused by the jute material on the whole close to the sleeping pillows. It
Classic historical building. High ceiling.
Smell from a shower drain. Not too bad, but noticeable.
Room is quite large, breakfast is ok on top floor nice view ,next door have a good restaurant
BED is very bad, old and sheet, pillow case have dirty mark
Breakfast - Complimentary buffet of pastries, fruits, hot items; weekdays until 10:30 AM, weekends until 11:00 AM; standout service on rooftopRooms - Stylish rooms with A/C, TV, minibar, safe, Wi-Fi, soundproofing; housed in a charming 1920s building—overall clean and cozy, some variability in size/maintenance Pool - Heated indoor pool open year-round, plus gym, sauna, massage—ideal for wellness-oriented travelers
Preserved room, cleaning, room size, location.
Parking, checkout early, elevator, stairs, breakfast.
Breakfast was really good with variety of options for food and drink.
Parking space is really tiny and limited to 5 spots, elevators are very old and with capacity for only three people at a time. The lobby could improve by taking opportunity fot the space they have. I didn't go to the indoor pool anf the Gymn as very limited.
Front desk and breakfast staff are super nice, friendly and helpful. We couldn't check-in when we arrived because we were early but they texted us as soon as our room was available, which was way before the official check-in time. Our room was spacious. Bathroom was also a good size. Enough closet space. Small fridge, water boiler and safe in the room. TV had some channels in English ;-). Breakfast area on the rooftop is very nice. Good variety of food. The property itself is wonderful, it is a historic building. High ceilings, very cool layout and thought through details. It has this atmosphere of a hostoric building with a modern very tasteful touch. This hotel must have been amamzing right after it was renovated. Now it is a little bit dated and would need some touch ups here and there.
Room could be cleaner, especially the bathroom. There was some mold around the sink. The shower head was covered with calcium deposits but the water pressure was still very good. The drain in the bathtub was rusty. Overall the rooms needs some deep cleaning and some TLC. My pillow cover had a hole and the linen was a little bit torn in one corner but it was clean. The bath towels are a good size but need to be replaced. They start thining and are not white anymore but have this typical greyish tone when towels get old. But they were also clean.
Like ? The shitty cause you to loose your senses, emotions. How to like?
Shitty, dirtiest and worst bed I’ve ever seen in my life :( I’ve described shortly to be known well. As I believe summary should be better. There’s nothing with stuff as they were kind. But no words to define the quality of this shitty place
Staff was great, location is veeery close to the historic center, great pool and comfortable room, very clean, too.
+ good location, close to old town+ breakfast was decent+ friendly staff with good suggestions
- hair dryer did not work- sometimes there was a smell of rotten eggs coming from the A/C- tiny elevator with doors closing super fast- indoor pool temperature was extremely hot, it was hot-tub temperature minus the jets
Good
TV disconnected from router every day, so we had to call for help to reconnect to get Netflix every day.
Lovely spacious and clean room. Amazing location.
Good locationRelatively clean
The hotel is old but not in a sense that it's a classic old hotel. The hotel's facilities are massively rundown and the interiors are spartan. Although generally the room was clean, the stains on the furniture made an impression that it's dirtier than it actually is. The wall pad near the head of the bed has an unpleasant smell, and the personnel uses a fragrance in liberal amounts in attempt to shadow this fact. The rooms are smaller than promised and don't always reflect the photos. The breakfast is passable but nothing special, and there's no good coffee.
Great stay in Montevideo. About a 20 min walk to the port, 10 min walk to the main square and street and 10 min ubers to the main beaches Room is clean and spaciousBreakfast is a smaller spread but it's on the roof terrace which is lovely
Bath/shower did not have a full door/curtain so water spilled onto the floor quite a lot
Great location. Very nice old building. Room was facing the front but ni noise Large bedroom.Excellent reception staff. Breakfast was basic ( fresh fruit not ripe, juices very watery, hot food cold ).The shower did not drain properly and lot of water left on the basin making it very slippery and dangerous.
We typically like to stay in the city centre, which is where this hotel is. The location was good, close to Plaza Independencia, where we could get the Hop-On Hop Off Bus, the pedestrian shopping street and less than 30 minute walk to the Mercado del Puerto. Also many restaurants were close by. Breakfast, which was included, did not have a lot of variety from day to day was decent and the view was great, as the restaurant is on the top floor. Our room was always clean and had fresh towels every day. We were there for 7 days, which was too long.
The hotel is a bit tired, and the elevators are very small. The swimming pool is indoors on the first floor and we found the water too warm and the pool was not the cleanest. It was nice having the sauna though.
The hotel has all the facilities needed for a good experience and very comfortable room with bathroom. Breakfast with nice large dedicated area and lot of options for different tastes
A bit less attention to details ( mould in the bathroom, old towels).
