Pros +
- Main area. Breakfast.
- The atmosphere, kind staff, good food and a beautiful city.
- This place is a good as it looks. The whole library concept is fun. The free coffee and tea was a lovely touch, grab a mug and any book and there was loads of fun spots to sit down and have a read, even on the roof terrasse. The breakfast was great - all the good stuff hot and cold. There was also an option for renting a DVD from a fun collection of movies they had there. The spa really was one of a kind. weird, fabulous, cosy - unique in a good way.You are within a comfortable walking distance to the center of town and to the fortress. We will plan to come back!
Cons -
- The room was small and it was the junior suite.
- Parking here is complex. But they do provide good information on the options that are around, so you can figure something out.
- It is not air conditioned and is between two busy streets. We had to request a move because people walking by could look into our room when the windows were open. Staff people accommodated us and were kind about this request.

To say this is a "funky" place is an understatement. It is a mix of an antique store and used book shop with all available wall space covered in book posters. There is also a huge spa mimicking the one Lenin had in his palace in Russia, if that "floats your boat."
It is not air conditioned and is between two busy streets. We had to request a move because people walking by could look into our room when the windows were open. Staff people accommodated us and were kind about this request.
I just wanted a room for the night and ended up in a mixture of old upper class nostalgia and a museum. It was certainly a different and surprising experience. My room 206 was maybe too small for this extravagances.
See above.
The spa especially...the hotell staff and the atmosphere and service are excellent
Nice vibe, great deco, good location, great staff, good breakfast.
Single room is quite smallBeds are too soft for my taste but comfortable nevertheless
Loved the furniture and spa. Very nice breakfast, coffee and tea is available till 23:00.
Did not like loud visitors of the spa, running around, splashing in the pool and laughing so loudly should not be allowed. People come here to relax. But that is not the Hotels fault. Could be nice though if the staff said this to all the visitors.
Very characterful hotel with lots of charm. Very friendly staff. Well located at the edge of town with a short walk to the sea. Definitely would return.
Bathroom needed a bit of updating.
location good , food poor
same every day . dont like cheese and meat , cakes for breakfast. bacon disgusting. not much for vegetarian
Interior was different and made it very homely. We had room 19 with a little balcony overlooking a square. It was super nice!
An unsusal building, very different from the standard soulless city hotel, and all the better for it. Breakfast was really good, and the hotel restaurant and coffee shop (across the road from the main building) was equally good
Loved this place! Interesting theme, decor, cozy, public spaces, breakfast, location. Especially enjoyed the room decor; very homey and looked like a private home where I'd be staying with friends. Would have loved spending more time here.
Nothing not to like.
A beautifully furnished hotel with a very personal and homely feeling. The roof terrace is great and the staff is friendly and helpful. There are plenty of nooks and crannies to explore, all decorated in various themes with a number of "easter eggs" to discover. The bar and restaurant is nearby and the hotel is located right in the town center, with walking distance to the seafront and port area (it is a small town, after all). Parking is available nearby and the train station is right by the hotel.
The room was quite small and thereby a bit cramped. Also, the price is rather high for the location and standard.
Very quirky hotel with wonderful Soviet artwork. The highlight is Lenin's bath...
It is a little pricey but then so is everything in Sweden.
Excellent location just a short walk from the train station, a cosy and special hotel with quirky and old fashioned- style interior. Lovely roof terrace and amazing gourmet breakfast, serving their guests cake for the Midsommar celebration.
I loved the decorations, the staff was very welcoming, and breakfast was very nice!
The blinds were not blackout or covering the window in full, so we woke up earlier than we wanted
This hotel is a gem. So much to see, so much to explore. Books everywhere, so many lovely details in every room and every common area. Breakfast was very good, and it's only five minutes by foot to the sea and the train station.
It would be great if there was an explanation on the hotel´s website about where the different rooms are located. You give the names of the buildings, but if you haven´t been there before you don´t know that the room is in a building across the street. More details, please!
No info about the locations of the three different hotel buildings. The room was very cold in January.
Breakfast is great, the spa is great, the straff is great, the Lenin bath is great, all books and papers that you can read everywhere.
The smell in the bathroom was not pleasant. Told the staff and they would get to it right away. I could do with a smaller pillow. It was a huge one that made the night a bit tricky for me.
