- A huge thank you to the Falcon Hotel team for an unforgettable stay. I especially want to thank Lauren and Laura from reception - they were amazing to work with and helped me pull off a perfect Birthday and Valentine’s surprise for my fiancée.The complimentary room upgrade was a wonderful touch. We loved the great atmosphere and the delicious food, but it was the professional and friendly staff that made the experience truly stand out. Highly recommended
- Great location. Excellent staff and very good bistro.Good bed.
- Very professional, efficient staff in lovely, well maintained surroundings.Ideally situated in the square.
Cons -
- Standard room rather basic and poor TV receptionUpgrade to superior room much better. Some of the furniture very tired and grubby corridor carpet. Expensive. People at bar very intrusive for diners.
- Think price should include breakfast and reception on tv so not many channels worked
- Unfortunately I had booked dinner for our nights stay in the hotel. A large group who had been using the function room then entered may lounge area of hotel. The restaurant was not shielded from this and they were walking through eating area and were very loud. This ruined a peaceful dinner and we could not hear each other speak. I asked if we could move and we transferred to the tap room. Staff were very apologetic but due to location of the dinner tables it was not a pleasant experience. There is also another room where breakfast is served this might be better for restaurant goers if large groups are going to descendnon the lounge area

This hotel is located in the market square in Uppingham and has many historical features. It was very comfortable and well appointed in keeping with its character. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We were attending a birthday party and the meal prepared by the hotel was excellent.
The hotel kitchen was closed Sunday evening so we were recommended their sister restaurant Don Paddy's. Unfortunately this wasn't good with many menu choices not available however the hotel was very apologetic.
Clean and tidy, staff were very friendly and helpful
Bed wasn’t very comfy
Great room, comfy bed, excellent breakfast included in price, friendly, helpful staff
Fantastic location. Beautiful rooms and amenities. We were a group of 5 in one huge room. Lovely breakfast includedStaff were extremely friendly and helpful, going above and beyond trying to arrange us a large taxi
Comfortable room with nice additions of Coffee bags and Shortbread biscuits. Choice of Shower or bath. Breakfast choices very good.
Good location. Friendly reception staff.Dedicated parking, although spaces were few.Hotel pay your parking if you use public car park.
Guests do not have an automatic table reservation for evening meal .Fully booked on evening of our stay although we did receive recommendation for another venue(and got last table! Would have been problematic otherwise).Room appeared clean at first glance but by evening lighting could see multiple cobwebs on light fittings and noted stitching of blinds coming apart when we closed them. Expected better attention to detail in a room costing over £200 a night.
Friendly staff, warm atmosphere, easy parking, gorgeous part of the country
Friendly, helpful staff. Ate in the hotel, food was very good, breakfast was plentiful and good. Bedroom was spacious with a very comfortable bed. Right in the market square, in a typical old English town.
44 steps to our room!!! Luckily we are relatively fit!!!
Food excellent.rooms beautiful garden area great staff very pleasant.
Found it hard to get to car park
Very friendly staff who were accommodating showing me to my room. Room was very nice and a good size. Everything seemed to a good standard. There was parking out front of the hotel at the time I arrived but had to move it before 9am the following day.
Limited restaurant menu and the price of wine was very high. There were no tissues in the room.
Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent room, very comfortable bed.Dinner and breakfast exceptional.
We find it difficult to fault anything. The car park is a bit small, but good parking nearby, so not a problem.
I loved this small and friendly hotel! The staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly, while the quality and comfort exceeded my expectations. The large, freshly-cooked breakfast in the morning was the cherry on top of a rather well-iced cake. Thank you!
There was no lift, but a helpful member of staff did help me with my luggage.
Location and room
Lack of personal connection with the staff
A really comfortable hotel in a historic building in an attractive market town. The staff were very helpful. The food was excellent, especially the fine dining option, "Fern". It's also well placed for visiting Rutland Water.
