The staff were friendly and helpful. We are in the restaurant and the food was amazing.

Location, Uppingham is a wonderful town, hotel well located

Steep staircase up to bedroom, to take luggage up, and to bathroom to fill kettle.Appeared not able to check with Booking.com regarding payments, as we were asked for payment on two occasions at the end of our stay, despite the fact that we had made payment in full to Booking.com, a few days before the start of our visit, (as requested by Booking.com.)We left our number, and asked the hotel to let us know when they had sorted it, but to date we have heard nothing from them. It would have been nice to have received an apology.

Very comfortable room, pleasant staff and convenient location, excellent night's sleep and outstanding breakfast.

The room was absolutely spectacular, well stocked with teas and coffees and toiletries, the bathroom was so impressively nice, so much larger than I anticipated! The staff was absolutely the kindest, most helpful and attentive hotel staff I’ve ever encountered. The location was lovely and the restaurant delicious. I have absolutely no complaints :)

The staff were extremely polite and let me check into my room early. The room was clean and tidy. I had a relaxing breakfast in the morning. All in all a lovely atmosphere, great service and would highly recommend.

Beautiful luxurious room- great decor and furnishings with a wonderfully modern bathroom. Huge bath, tranquil LED lighting and a rainfall shower.

Breakfast was superb, and the staff we met (on reception and in the dining room) were friendly and professional. The location in the centre of Uppingham was perfect for us, and our Standard King room to the side of the hotel – ie not facing the High Street – was very quiet. The bathroom was spacious, the bed comfortable. The jar of excellent home-made shortbread in the room and the jug of fresh milk for our tea were a nice touch.

I would have liked sockets beside the bed, so we could plug in our phones there instead of across the room, and a full-length mirror (I was dressing for a party). I'm not keen on bedspreads in hotel rooms, and the slightly furry synthetic one in our very warm top-floor room on what was one of the hottest days of the year seemed particularly pointless. The bedlinen was nice, though. These are all minor things. I'm mentioning them because for the price (£168 for the night, including breakfast) I expected perfection.

Everything! Great staff and exceptional meals. Our second visit and it didn't disappoint.

Beautiful room and lovely food. Staff are always friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Nice touches like home made biscuits in the room with tea making facilities. Love staying here and will be back again.

The stairs up to the room are difficult with a case as it’s an older building. But, the staff are great and helped carry my case to my room. Parking can be challenging but there is parking on the high street in front of the hotel.

Stunning food, beautifully presented, great mix of tastes. Pleasant room with welcome bath rather than just shower.

Restaurant was exceptional - very, very good breakfast selection, outstanding evening meals. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was decidedly average but we were informed that there were already plans in place to improve it. Regardless, our stay was very enjoyable.

Lovely room with everything we needed.Restaurant was great, loved the real fire. Staff and service were excellent and the food was fantastic.

There was no signage to explain how to get into the property.The parking is poor, it would be better to have said no parking so you don't expect it.The bed felt quite hard, I didn't sleep too well the first night.

Very clean and comfortable room. The hotel was excellent and the food in the dining room was first rate for both dinner and breakfast.

Only a minor point that a larger on-site car park would be great but there is ample parking available on the high street and in the adjacent public car park..

Was a lovely place, just needs some extra care and cleaned rooms
