Beautiful spot on the beach, easy walk toAFew scenic spots, super helpful staff and we got the best room in the house!

A bagpiper came and played outdoors and then a small band played in the pub!
Good location. Staff were exceptional: very helpful and kind. Nice lobby. Having a bar, comfortable lobby and restaurant on first floor was enjoyable and convenient.

The location and view is simply spectacular.
The breakfast spread was disappointing and there was not much that was on offer. Also the beds are well past their utility date and creak constantly
Stately old hotel with an elevator, thankfully. Room was a bit warm, but the coved window opened and the osculating fan was much appreciated. Wonderful breakfast choices in the large dining room.
The room was clean and comfortable, with the view of the beach across the hotel. The breakfast was good too. This hotel is located in a small and quiet village, ideal for a relaxing stroll, and where you can still find shops and services catering for everyday needs.
Great location, friendly staff, parking, good views, good sized room.
Furniture and decor in the room was very tired and the room had a slight old musty smell. The shower was not great. However, it was still an okay room for a couple of nights.
Staff great
Superier room but shower head could do with changing
So clean spotless. The location is very strategic. Love the room. The staffs are very nice.thanks
atmosphere, dinner and a nice room.
This must have been a grand hotel once upon a time. The rooms were huge, but that also meant quite cold - we had to use the electric heater which thankfully they did provide. The bed was new, but everything else felt like out of a set of The Grand Budapest Hotel. The setting is beautiful - right at the sea. The receptionist was very nice, I was surprised to see her at 10pm and then again the next morning at 8am, must be a tiring job, although she only looked to be in her early 20s so I guess she can handle it.
The "once upon a time" that this hotel was grand was probably around 1975. Now, it is rather archaic - although it is in a decent state of repair (except their elevator was broken - apparently temporary). They have faucets for "hot" and "cold" water in the sink rather than a modern sink with a single faucet that you can adjust the water temperature to your liking - I haven't seen separate H/C sink faucets in a room in continental Europe in probably 20 years. Everything creaked. We stayed at the end of the ground floor, and the floor under the carpet was very clearly sagging in and uneven. This hotel reminded me of childhood vacations with my family, which has a certain charm, but I am glad that hotel room quality has improved in the past 30-40 years. Like for instance, having a modern "Italian style" shower that's not inside a bathtub would be nice. And having floorboards that don't creak with every step like you're in the hotel in The Shining. Anyway, not to pick on Gairloch hotel too much - much of the lodging in the Scottish Highlands is antiquated.
Beautiful location, lovely feel to the place. Room was old fashioned but extremely big and comfortable. So good to have a bath and shower.
Extra charge for dog. Advertised as dog friendly and only place on our 11 day trip that charged extra.
The location was great with lovely views. Very busy hotel with a couple of coach parties when we were there. Breakfast buffet was excellent with hot and cold options. Enjoyed our evening meal which was served very quickly.
Many very creaky floorboards in the corridor and our room. The coach parties get priority on dining times.
Beautiful location, excellent, professional staff.
Parking was difficult in the evening.
Nice, comfortable hotel, with lovely views of the bay
Bar shut too early
Very friendly staff, beautiful hotel, and the area is stunning.
Our room was a bit awkward, but it's an old hotel, so nothing necessarily bad about it, just little things like the floors creaking and the temperature.
