    • Big comfy bed. Near to where I had night out
    • it was right across the road from the venue we were attending, the hotel was beautiful, staff were outstanding! the food was amazing also.

    Cons -

    • Shower enclosure opening was very small.
    • we struggled locking and unlocking our door as it was a key rather than a FOB, we got the hand of it eventually
    • Room very cold on arrival and curtains cover radiator which makes it less effective Bathroom freezing as no heating in there

Breakfast was fine and choice was good. Location was good for our purpose. We had dinner in the restaurant which our party of 10 all enjoyed. The only downside was it was cold in the restaurant too. Staff weee friendly and really helpful.

Rooms were small and very cold and bathrooms freezing. Bathroom sink was too small to have a wash in. Shower was fine though. Bed wasn’t that comfortable but ok but because it was so cold and duvet was thin, it wasn’t a pleasant sleep.

Lovely large bedroom with great sea views

    Bathroom needed updating

The location excellent. Food excellent.Bar/restaurant staff excellent

I paid an extortionate £520 for a room with a sea view, got a bit part view of sea!!! Room service atrocious, shower room could do with tlc. It was tiny and cold, no heater or towel rail. I had to ask for clean towels on more than 1 occasion, also toilet roll, teabags. It is not somewhere to stay, if you need to rest in day. No lift available. As you put your dob they know age on booking. I am able bodied but not everyone is.

Location perfect, staff friendly and helpful. Room comfortable.

Bathroom was cold as no radiator, ventilation not great as no window

I stayed here last year and really loved it. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious enough so I was very comfortable. I could even partly see the beach from my room. It's 2 minutes walk to the beach and is right in the centre of town. This time however the room I had was tiny and a little tired. I'd advise taking one of the larger rooms. It was also very basic but very clean. I never like when I have plastic cups to drink water from either. The shampoo and body wash is tiny one use plastic bottles, so nothing special there The breakfast is in the pub downstairs from the rooms. The food you choose is tasty. I always have the omlette. But there's no buffet. There's just a filter coffee machine with some water and orange juice and some refilled small jam jars. So the chef does amazing at creating delicious food. But there's no additional choice. I've been in many more hotels in Scotland that really impress with breakfast choice. Also, I'd advise bringing earplugs. I felt like the snoring man in the room next to me was actually in the room with me. So to summarise, it's clean and convenient but they could do with spending a little more on things. I did overhear that they are painting two rooms a week at the moment and they have 18 rooms. So maybe things will pick up. The staff are great. I do like this hotel and don't think it would take too much to put it in the top 5 in Stonehaven. It would only take a few tweaks and a little more spent.

There could be a little more on offer for breakfast. It's tasty, but it's a one choice off of the menu. Plus the tiny jars are refilled. So probably cheaper brands. And there's just one juice on offer. There's plastic cups and no water bottles in the rooms. The shower gel and shampoo is tiny and plastic throw aways. The walls are very thin.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was spotless, cozy and comfortable. Wonderful sea view. Dined in the bar and really enjoyed our meal.

The room was small, however it had what we needed and the fabulous view made up for the lack of space.

Good breakfast and very clean room.

Reception and bar very tired looking and dated.

First of all the staff was amazing Cam and his colleague did an amazing job at trying to fix booking.coms issues!!! The area was great to go exploring !

It took us over 2 hours to check in due to some miss communication with booking.com (not the hostels fault) the when we finally checked it past 9pm my blanket had been washed with tissue paper so my bed was a mess, I went and got a new blanket. Then went to the bathroom..... Toilet very dirty number 2s and bl**d. Showers only had a tiny little half shelf to put your belongings and the water sprayed on to them anyways showers were also very dirty.

The staff in the hotel were lovely and very attentive. The person on breakfast was especially lovely and such a hard worker she never stopped. Nothing was a hassle. The reception got the room ready earlier as we had requested.

Lovely comfortable, well furnished bedroom with great sea view. Very nice cooked breakfast.

En suite bathroom was just ok, but water was only warm, not hot. While breakfast food was good, there wasn't much choice: no option for cereal or porridge.

Location great, staff friendly and helpful and food was lovely.

very good location, our room overlooked the shore so was nice to wake in the morning to sound of the waves crashing on the beach. Great breakfast.

bed was very uncomfortable,so not a good sleep. Room could do with a wee freshen up with a Lick of paint.. also windows on the front could be doing with a paint.
