    Pros +

    • Breakfast was excellent with a proper menu, cooked to order and table service. Dinner also excellent
    • The hotel is very cozy to be in, even if it is old in style. I never felt overly cold although I could hear the north sea winds blowing wildly against the windows. The selection of whisky's and the food served is just amazing definitely worth staying there for those. The staff were all polite and helpful, very good service. There is some nice history to the area and worth spending time checking them out, most are all within walking distance so make sure to have wellington boots or waterproof hiking shoes.
    • The friendliness of the staff was excellent. The breakfast was lovely and well presented. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious. We enjoyed reading about the history of the hotel.

    Cons -

    • very little to find fault with
    • The only bad thing is the bus services can be temperamental so for best travel freedom, have a car to drive around.
    • Our arrival coincided with a children's party which was quite noisy.

Clean and comfortable rooms, modern bathroom. Bar and restaurant were part of the hotel and really good, had breakfast and dinner and both was really nice.

Great country pub in beautiful Cruden Bay. Ideal for golfers and travellers. Large rooms, hearty pub meals, superb location right near Slain Castle and Cruden Bay golf club. Lovely staff, so accommodating. Kept kitchen open one day when we had a late finish. Felt good supporting this family run pub. Great breakfasts included. Excellent value for money.

Great location at the seaside, brilliant restaurant, calm bar AND a lively bar (you choose!), interesting sites nearby. Fantastic staff fulfilled several special requests. Breakfast was great. Room was silent. I came to work away for a while, and could do so alongside enjoying the area. A beautiful beach, golf, history, many amenities.

I considered what I could write here, and came up with the following: the lighting in the shower could be increased.

The bar area was good. Room was spacious.

My room was directly above the bar and it felt like a disco was happening in my room. This lasted until 11.00 pm

Very good menu choice and well coming and attentive service in a nice and pleasant ambience.

The breakfast sausages were slightly on the dry side and the scrambled egg a bit on the dry side but this may be down personal taste.

Don’t look at the hotel from the outside! Inside it is clean, breakfast is very good and the restaurant, too. The room was nicely decorated, clean and comfortable.

One of the best breakfasts I've had at a hotel, Hagis, Blood Pudding, taters. It's not a big breakfast but it's made fresh to order and was delicious.

Honestly, things were very good. People do have to climb stairs to get to upper levels, but that's the case in all historic hotels.

The small snug that we had an evening meal in .

The outside , especially windows needed painted / filled .

Within walking distance to Bay area. Staff were lovely and food was delicious. Good sized Room. Lovely building in its day.

Outside of Hotel needs some TLC. Bar entrance windows very dirty and makes for poor first impression when pulling up outside. Lovely garden area but feels a bit neglected which is a shame as it has lots of potential. Overpriced in my opinion.

The food was excellent, staff was very friendly & helpful. Our room was huge with our own private patio. Which was lovely.

The underfloor heating was on the blink, but did have a little oil filled radiator which did the job.
