Pros +
- Everything about our stay was excellent! Our accommodations were clean and comfortable. My wife loved soaking in the tub. We truly enjoyed our meals at the inn. The staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel employees are perfect hosts.
- The staff was very friendly.
- Good location, well appointed property apart from the rooms soundproofing which was abysmal. We could hear the occupants in the next room speaking and coughing till the early hours and whenever anyone moved in the room above us it was like a herd of elephants moving the furniture about.
Cons -
- Staff were friendly but VERY inexperienced. Service was extremely slow and erratic. We ordered a pot of Earl Grey tea when we arrived and twenty minutes later when I asked after it I was told that they didn't have any Earl Grey it was being delivered the following morning. No thought of offering an alternative. I'm afraid my comment "I don't want to wait that long for a cuppa" was probably misinterpreted. At the end of the evening whilst halfway through paying for our evening meal the member of staff was interrupted by another member of staff and never returned. I settled the next morning.
- The staff was not helpful that much, the smell at room was too much, it was not clean as well, the shower broken, the bathroom full of spider web,
- I was accommodated in room 5, suitable for guests with disabilities although this didn't apply in my case. The bathroom was somewhat dated with some of the aids (support arms etc) for disabled persons showing advanced signs of rust. The support armrest alongside the toilet couldn't be moved to the upwards position without it crashing down again.

The old archtecture

Good location for touring the Cotswolds. The hotel had a nice welcoming atmosphere and the staff were great.

Terrific staff and a great stay. Lovely old Inn. Large clean room with a comfy bed and lots of hot water. Had an excellent dinner there! And breakfast was very good also.
It was a nice location with a pleasant back patio.
The shower curtain was moldy. There was black mold on the tile above the bathtub. The floor could have been cleaner too.
The location & breakfast
The toilet had not been cleaned & was in a bad state. The ground floor window could not be locked, when we went out, as the catch was broken.
Lovely comfortable room in this old English pub. The staff were so helpful and friendly (gave us a late checkout so we can do a local walk, at a small extra fee), helped with directions and genuinely wanted to make our stay comfortable. We had a good breakfast, lovely glass of wine in the bar, in the evening. We loved it all. It’s not in a village however, so my sister got woken by a little traffic.
The main road (ask to be at the back, but if you have the window opens and are a light sleeper you will hear a few cars, nothing crazy!)
Ease of getting there, parking, the ability to get food at the location, and the comfort of the rooms.
Beautiful, ancient inn, beautiful countryside. Gorgeous, comfy accomodations. The food was good and healthy. The staff were nice, friendly and helpful. We loved it.
A little trouble with the toilet flushing properly but the manager fixed immediately. The soup was the only thing that was lacking in flavor. Otherwise, really no complaints. Our favorite stay of a week-long trip with various accomodations. Just lovely.
Fabulous Inn. Gorgeous location and lovely breakfast.
Room 14 could do with an extra shelf in the bathroom for personal toiletries.
A true characteristic pub B&B with plenty of character.
The flipside of an older building with plenty of character is that some of the furniture and fittings are a little old and outdated.
The bathroom was clean, bedding clean, breakfast ok.
Dark room, very noisy, people above, could even hear every word the spoke, birdsnest in the chimney.
The pub is attractive, both inside and out, decorated in a traditional style. The staff were friendly, the room spacious and the food, both for evening meal and breakfast, was of a high standard.
Great location if you looking to visit the rest of the Cotswolds, only a short drive from Cirencester. The breakfast was fantastic, so many options! The staff were super helpful. Room size was great and everything was very cosy (and cutely decorated). Couldn’t have asked for more! :)
Toilet flush was a bit stiff and would have felt a little safer if there was an internal lock on the room door.
We didn’t realise the property was on an estate until we went for a walk in the morning whilst waiting for breakfast, it was pretty cool, staff were outstanding & great food, thankyou
The Housekeeper must have been interrupted whilst cleaning so there was a cloth left behind, bathroom needed a wipe down from last guests & an unclean mug & spoon needed changing.
Well appointed room, good menu, good cooking and very good breakfast in a good location for us.
It was nice and private being in group of two cottages and having separate entrance from the pub, which was better for returning late from wedding.
The two single beds were obviously usually pushed together as a double and split into singles for our requirement as father and son. This meant they ended up smaller than a standard single bed and the mattresses where older spring style which were not very comfy ?
The staff were very nice and friendly. Very hardworking and always smiling.
The menu in the pub in the evening wasn't clear as we wanted new potatoes and it was a potato cake that was served. Also, too much sauce on the sea bass, it would be better if the customer were allowed to pour the sauce on for preference.
