- Superb staff, comfortable bed, great bathroom. Fabulous restaurant for evening meal and breakfast - can't fault a thing! Beautiful period building that is well maintained
- There was a graduation dance that was going on during my stay. They had a carnival ride in the parking lot that ran till 11pm. I was not bothered by the noise in fact enjoyed their celebration. Room was quite comfortable.
Cons -
- Shower wasn't great.
- Loved everything
- It was quite warm during my stay and the only comfort was a portable fan (a box fan that could be put in the window would have been much better. The WIFI was very weak. I had planned to walk to the Beamish museum, but it proved to be farther away than anticipated. Very good stay all in all.

Good room and food.
Soft mattress
Staff very friendly, room was lovely set out nice and very clean we ate in the restaurant, food was beautiful
Beautiful period property with lovely grounds in a central location for access to many of the tourist attractions in the north east.
Ambience
Long wait between courses 1830 booking 2020 when we hot second course. House wine only 11% and very insipid for a merlot
Very nice location, The Hotel is very nice and the staff are very friendly and helpful, We ate in the Restaurant and we all enjoyed the food and the service. We travelled as a group of 9 bikers and the Hotel and Staff are very accommodating for bikers for parking and they allocated us space for storage during the day to leave our riding gear whilst we visited the Beamish Museum
From arriving, we were extremely impressed. A majestic building. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly. The room was beautiful, with very comfortable bed,and the stables restaurant was really nice with plenty of seating outside.
Lovely location, rooms spacious and comfortable and the staff were just fantastic! The restaurant was an added bonus
Very grand property, staff on reception were excellent, couldn’t do enough and very friendly. Rooms were lovely and were nice and warm.
My Mum is 88 and the lifts were broken. Having to walk out of the hotel across the courtyard to dinner and breakfast was odd.
Beautiful grounds and rooms, helpful staff
Food was only okay
Limited menu choices in the Stables dining room for an evening meal.Breakfast was excellent.Only one chair in the bedroom.
Staff were very nice building and surroundings lovely ( I already knew this ) and The Stables very nice ( again I knew this ).
The room was small for the price - difficult to manoeuvre easily with my lady ( who is not large ) and there was NO wardrobe. - probably because it was so small .
Breakfast was delicious. Room comfortable with lovely decor, stable bar where we had our evening meal, gorgeous surroundings delicious food and attentive staff .
Absolutely beautiful building in very well kept grounds with all the traditional features of a stately home.
Nothing it was beautiful
Very comfortable room and bed. Dinner was excellent.Good selection for breakfast.Staff friendly and helpful.Pleasant relaxing atmosphere.
Bathroom lovely but chilly. towel rail not sufficient to heat the large room.We left bedroom door open and the temperature did improve.
The location and setting was inimitable. The public rooms were delightful.
Beyond the public rooms the hotel was shabby with stained carpets. The lift door on the ground floor did not close automatically which precluded the lift from operating on the upper floors.
Excellent hotel, the staff couldn't do enough for us. Evening meal and breakfast were extremely good, lots of choice and excellent service.
nothing, our stay was above our expectations
Very comfortable room on the top floor with great views. Comfortable and spacious. Excellent breakfast. Dinner was a bit disappointing as we stayed on a Sunday and the only option was the limited Sunday Lunch Roasts menu which was not ideal for diabetics. My best option was to choose the burger - which was fine even though I didn't eat the bun - but the vegetables that came with my wife's roast chicken that I was hoping to use to fill up were a bit tired and overcooked. Friendly and helpful staff.
