Exceptional value for money on a Sunday night. The property is great, rooms clean, all shared facilities (toilets and showers) nice and clean, with lots of hot water. Nice breakfast in the morning too.

Only minor niggle - no car park or parking facilities. Restricted on street car parking, unrestricted a 2 minute walk away. Not an issue really (in the nice weather)

Location and simplicity

Parking. We were abused by another guest at breakfast for taking 2 additional sausages at an unlimited breakfast which we paid £9.95 for and the member of staff did not intervene whilst the other guest became aggressive.There was a member of staff who was incredibly rude also, demanding we had to leave our breakfast and go to the till to pay, even though there was no mention of this and no flexibility. Very bad attitude and an obvious miscommunication but was made in to an awkward situation and my party of 6 felt really uncomfortable. Overall the stay was ok, but I would not be recommending to friends, family or hiking network to stay here in future.

The hostel is in a beautiful setting and very centrally located. We were travelling with a small child and really appreciated the nearby park. It also got us thinking about a future child free walking weekend. The rooms and facilities were clean and comfortable and the food was great.

A shower curtain in the shower beside room 310 would make all of the difference. It is a very small room and the shower easily sprayed clothing hung up outside the shower.

Breakfast was good, but the bacon could have been cooked for a bit longer. Great staff - really friendly & helpful. Nice bar & self catering kitchen was well equipped. Beds very comfortable - great view over the river from our balcony!

Location is perfect, staff are friendly and is a place I use every Lake District visit.

A great location to explore Keswick, excellent facilities on site, large kitchen diner. Food and drinks bar that is available available looks great.

This time, the money was taken again from my account, despite paying in full a month earlier...and took 10 days to come back.

Clean bed, dorm not overcrowded, excellent cafe and bar area, good breakfast, plenty of toilets and showers.The drying room is especially useful.
