Stonefield Castle Hotel 'A Bespoke Hotel'

The staff and food quality were amazing. The restaurant view was also fantastic.

Terribly over-priced. The grounds were in poor shape, there was mold and ceiling pealing in the bathroom, there was peaking ceiling in the hallway, cramped rooms, overpriced drinks at the bar, etc. This place is completely over-priced and overrated.

Everything about this hotel was perfect – the service, the staff, and the atmosphere. Highly recommended! The food was amazing and staff were very friendly. We needed to get to Kennacraig Port early in the morning but couldn’t find a taxi. One of the staff members went above and beyond and drove me there! Thanks to their help, I made it to Islay without any problems. Truly amazing hospitality!

What a beautiful hotel- the grounds and location were amazing- after breakfast there were a few trails to walk and enjoy the loch scenery- I wish we would have arrived earlier to have drinks in the library

Air travel disruptions and an unexpected road closure out of Glasgow led to us arriving significantly later than planned. The team at Stonefield Castle did an exceptional job helping us navigate the changes. We awoke to a beautiful location, fine breakfast, and the ever helpful team. The room was very comfortable. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer. We would definitely stay here again. Many thanks to Claire, Dimitri, and all the others whose names I regretfully do not recall.

Not having more time to enjoy Stonefield Castle.

Lovely old Scottish baronial hotel overlooking Loch Fyne. Wonderful, comfortable public rooms. Great breakfast. Set in nice wooded parkland with views of the sea.

Room was a bit small - but we'll equipped.

It is a beautiful castle with potential but it is not maintained well.

The restaurant service was abysmal. However, the food was good. The room smelted of mold and I am quite sure there was black mold on the wall outside of my room. The pillows were the worst pillows I have ever slept on.

Outside is impressive, the staff are excellent in every way. The view from the restaurant is really lovely. The bar area is pleasant and the service is terrific.

Cleanliness, Our rooms were dated and were only 3 star for cleanliness. The passageway leading to rooms is a poor first impression-dirty carpet and marked walls. A little elbow grease and a paint roller would go a long way.

fire alarm went off at 2:30 in the morning and it was just our room. Night staff did not know what to do.

The food is amazing. Loved being able to explore the grounds and the castle.

We had an issue with our faucet being hard to turn off.

Beautiful location. It has an authentic character.

It is starting to show some signs of neglect, which is a shame. With a little more maintenance and attention to detail, it could be stunning.

The setting was a true getaway from work, and the staff was wonderful. I will never make fun of Scottish food again. It was delicious. Please send my compliments to the chef. Every alluring dish presentation made me want to share it with my wife so I could take a bite of hers. We had the most charming experience. The grounds offered beautiful views while hiking. Loch Fyne was crystal clear and accessible. And, the weather was perfect for springtime weather. The locals insisted this was highly unusual. ​​​​​​​Steve Ludwick

Great accommodating staff, for food allergies. Amazing dinner and breakfast. Make sure to book a reservation. Beautiful land to walk.

The property and staff was wonderful.

The room was very hot, a small fan in room would help with circulating the air and relieve some of the stuffiness. The food was just okay.
