Pros +
- The location was good, very near to the places I wanted to visit. Very quiet in the winter, but a very helpful and comprehensive guide folio of the area in my room.
- Spacious and charming, quiet rooms, spotless clean. Very friendly staff. Beautiful location. There is no restaurant service but you can use a microwave to heat up your own food. We bought provisions before arriving to the hotel, so we came well prepared. There is a also fridge you can use.
- The old elegant house, the cleanliness, the easy check in/out.
Cons -
- The hotel was exactly as described and what I expected it to be.
- Nothing. Everything was good.
- The shower should have had more pressure. And there is really nothing (to eat) close by.But other than that, everything was very satisfactory.

We were visiting the area to stand up paddleboard Loch Awe, so this was an excellent 0lace to stay. No food is available but there is a restaurant and bar just down the road. The kettles, micro wave and fridge were perfect for our stay. Bedrooms were interesting. Staff were exceptionally friendly. Quirky but a great place to stay if you are in the area.
No complaints about accommodation or owners who were very helpful
No shops restaurants or bars close by
Friendly and supportive staff, good location, comfortable room
Its a shame that breakfast isn't provided.
We had the hotel all to us as we were the only guests staying. Beautiful place, stunning surroundings, very clean and friendly staff.
No food, but it didn't bother us as we stopped at the shop beforehand.
Lovely spacious, clean well looked after room.Friendly staff
Wpould have liked on site food.
Absolutely breathtaking room with a beautiful view of the highlands, very comfy mattress, super-clean, very quiet, lovely staff
The four poster bed was so comfy. A lovely fresh bathroom with a big shower and loads of hot water. The room was so cosy and very peaceful. No noise from the other rooms. It's set off the main road and has good parking. I found it to be exactly as described and it's definitely a great place to stay if you just want a comfy, good night's sleep at a very reasonable price.
Although I was given a lovely welcome from the owners on arrival, once they'd gone, it felt eerily quiet. It's a large old-fashioned building with cosy, freshly decorated big rooms, high ceilings, heavy drapes, dark wood period furniture but as lovely as it is, it lacked atmosphere. With only 5 rooms to let, and being a solo traveller, I felt like I was the only one there.
location is fantastic. views out the room are breath taking. rooms furnished beautiful . plenty of tea and coffee. nice and warm
dislike the fact the host is not available on site after 8pm. we were told the main doors are open 24hr. this is surely a health and safety issue. your room is lockable. still find it strange
Nice and close to where I was going
We had myself and someone else in the property . Unfortunately they were above us so could hear creaking in the floor from them moving which kept waking me up . If you are a light sleeper you may struggle. However , they offered me to change room but by this point it was really late to have to be able to move everything and I was up really early the next day so I declined .
Bright large room ( double room for one person ) beautifully decorated with carved furniture and thick red soft furnishings. Plenty of storing space and draws. Tea and coffee and kettle. Window with view of the mountains. Very quiet location off the main road, but within easy access of it and bus / coach stop just outside on the corner of Dalmally's little side road. Traditional Scottish public hallway, staircase and lounge with tartan carpets. I hiked up the central heating on 2 ( of the 7 ) colder days and nights ( was available other times ). two fridges in the lounge to store your own food, a microwave oven and disposable cutlery if you want. Owners friendly and very helpful for information, practical and for excursions. Offered to launder my clothes when I got stuck in a wet bog on an excursion, helped with my suitcase up the stairs on arrival and down them up to the coach stop on departure.Good value for a week's stay.
Large room. Quiet. Very comfortable.
I enjoyed my stay. Do understand that some people might want restaurant or bar. I had no problem and they make it very clear that is room only which suits me.
Lovely hotel rooms with great countryside view, it's a bit remote and you would need a car to come here. The host is very friendly and helpful. The room is very spacious as well, and it's very quiet in the night so you can get tight sleep.
nothing. you need to be aware that there's no restaurants or cafe in walking distance, the closest restaurant closes very early, so you should come and be prepared with some snack.
Wonderful place, beautiful building in a secluded area. It was so clean and the staff were lovely.
Would give 10/10 if the mattress & pillows weren’t so uncomfortable
The host checking us in was very friendly. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. It was quiet and the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. A unique lobby and downstairs area.
It was a little off the path from a standpoint of finding food in the evening, but our host was helpful in this regard.
Very peaceful environment. Easy to reach it. Close to the nature. The staff is kind and helpful.
There was not anything what we did not like.
It was on our route so for us it was perfect location for 1 night.Nearby there are some good restaurants, i.e. Ben Cruachan about 5 minutes drive. But the hotel had fridge, microwave, cutlery, a lounge to eat if you want to eat in.Beds are big, we had view to the hills. We liked the royal style of the rooms :)We had some problem with our shower but the owner acted very quickly and repaired immidiately.
As a room-only hotel, the room and facilities were more than adequate. The room was a good size, the bed comfortable and spacious, we very gothic style furniture.
Personally, I would prefer a walk in shower rather than the bath/shower facility provided. The bath was potentially slippy during use and and water temperature control poor.
