Lochside Hotel

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel. A great experience. The restaurant and bar area was great. Excellent menu. We had dinner and breakfast, both were very good. Superb selection of scotch at the bar. Staff was kind and courteous.

A little noisy at night from the bar, but we really didn't mind.

I loved the breakfast and any other food that was made on the property not only that but the beautiful view from there. The other thing that really stands out is the staff… Excellent! The unique rooms are fun and the pub is a perfect place to spend some time at the end of the day

The bar and food were great, great view from the room, staff was excellent! Located within walking distance to many great bars, restaurants, sights to see. The bathroom was top notch.

Excellent breakfasts, easy parking, great views over the bay.

Rooms are a bit cramped, but understanding the hotel is quite old so there’s not much to be done.

The bedrooms

Warm welcome with an easy check-in process. My room was spotless and the beds are really comfy, great food and unreal selection of whisky! I’d stay here again if I return to islay. I couldn’t get breakfast due to an early checkout (05:30) but this was accounted for with a large dram the night before! Would 100% stay here again in the future.

The location as a base for the island was well placed to explore the rest of the island , the view at breakfast was memorable Staff were very friendly and were above and beyond to assist with everything we asked for

Would just say that the kettles are too large to fit in the sink when filling them but a tumbler was provided just a minor niggle against a great hotel l will come back too.

Lovely location on the side of the Loch, views are fab. Great place to explore Islay.

The location was central to everything on Islay. The room was clean and comfortable with an amazing view. We loved our stay here.

On the very edge of Europe, with only America to the west. Cosy, friendly and well fed was I. Charming wee place Bowmore. Good banter with the Hotelier and excellent Whisky advice.

I could have done with more sun! But if that's the case I should have gone to Ibiffa!

Ben the Barman was amazing he worked exceptionally hard and was very friendly and helpful

Rooms very small

Fabulous dining room with great view . Staff very helpfully provided a phone charger I’d left at previous stay. Great breakfast.

Expensive compared with mainland

The place was really nice and clean with good facilities.I had the Ardbeg room with separate bathroom, but the bathroom was huge and modern - great shower pressure. Niall was a great host and his breakfasts are huge!! So bring an appetite.

The mattress was a little too firm, and short for me (at a bit over 6ft) but manageable.

The staff were all lovely - very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Room comfortable with fab views.
