Muthu Oban Regent Hotel

Food was hot and tasty. Good location.

The window did not shut by about 20cm, outside temp about -4, luckily the heating did work well so I wasn't cold. The shower sliding door fell of when I opened it! The place needs full refurbishment. If your not fussy this place is okay...!

The property is in the nice location on the sea front

The tv service was patchy and lacked streaming services, the hotel had a problem with hot water so no washing facilities.

Everyone was so helpful. We did ask for the rooms to be moved which was better.

The outside of the property really needs painted and cleaned up. It would put customers off staying. Inside was lovely.

Rooms were ok, could have done with more cleaning.

Shower was blocked and overflowed into bathroom floor, so couldn’t get a shower. When reported didn’t think staff were too bothered.

Good location and friendly staff, we got a room upgrade which was definitely worth it. Breakfast was ok.

Water was lukewarm at best, room was very strangely paid out.

The outside of the property was a bit run down . Nothing a lick of paint & clean up outside the steps etc

Everything was freshly decorated and modern with some lovely vintage furniture , rooms were lovely

The room was dirty: room floor not swept, under bed dirty, sticky floor, sticky teatray, sticky shower, toothpaste on bathroom walls and door, crumbs in drawer under teatray, showerroom floor had dustballs in corners, drawer in showerroom sticky. Toilet seat was wrong size so had to sit partly on ceramic. NO HOT WATER in the morning. Incredibly bright lights above the bed but dimmer to that was broken. Other switches not working. Window to the view (for which you pay more) was absolutely filthy. Stairs up to hotel are varying heights and with parket-floor type pattern which were rising up creating trip hazards. There was a lip of about an inch heigh at the top which was a trip hazard. Rubbish bags at the front, i could go on...

Fab location overlooking the bay towards Kerrera,Art Deco style , old Scottish Hotel sympathetically renovated. Tina and all Reception Staff are very friendly and helpful as as staff in Dining Room,Breakfast was delicious ( vegetarian).Comfortable bed, Bottled water in room and generous amount of tea/ coffee sachets. Shower pressure is excellent !!(Don’t be put off by the facade which needs a little attention aesthetically )

Booked the marine suite which was very comfortable and well equipped. The staff were very friendly and helpful

No parking, quite a lot of stair up to the property, room we booked into smelled of sewage so we went back to reception and the staff members nice on was lovely swapped room right away, bathroom wasn’t as nice and where the room was you o my have partial view of the bay so I feel like we never really got what we paid for, also the bathroom had a blob of chewing gum on the floor. Was woken up at 7am with music blaring up from the restaurant, eventually got fed up and went to reception again and they quickly rectified this, couldn’t get back to sleep after that so went down to breakfast but it was so greasy we couldn’t eat it so didn’t bother going for breakfast the next morning, the night we got there although there was still issues with new room I was so tired (had just drove 4 hours) I didn’t have the energy to complain then move room again, all the negatives completely ruined the break for us, I’m a full time carer and rarely get time so this was quite disappointing

Great location in middle of town with seafront views and everything worth doing in Oban within short walking distance. Confusing parking, very little on site, however public car park directly across street made it very easy (though had to pay for this).Dining room area is fantastic with great views out over the sea. Breakfast was good, full Scottish Breakfast as well as continental options available, as much as you like. Staff friendly and attentive.

Que to check-in, the staff were friendly, polite and attentive though were clearly understaffed and rushed off their feet at times with reception staff juggling manning the bar and the reception desk at times.The room was clean though clearly needs a bit of a revamp. Gaps in the wooden floor tiles catching your skin as you walk over them and bathroom fittings poorly installed/ maintained. All seemed a bit worn.The wait for the lift to get up and down from the higher floors was excruciating at times especially as we were on the top floor and at meal/ check out rush hour this took a long time with stairs not really being an option with suitcases in tow.

Very Friendly staff & high standard of room. Loved the free room upgrade.

Loved the comfortable room, Great facilities, Right in the heart of Oban, sonar all shops and ferry.

Didn't like the tv, although one of the staff returned it pixelated again. Quite a nuisance in the early dark nights. Really wasnt happy with the fried breakfast overcooked egg, mushroom cold and half Cooked. The scrambled egg tasted like powdered egg not nice at all. So we stuck to continental.

Easy access to town. Sparkling water provided

Shower gel container was empty.Far nicer on the inside than the outside appearance. Could do with a paint on the outside
