    Pros +

    • Great location. Right across a small road to beach. Convenient to ferry. Wonderful food.
    • The location was great, but remote and hard to get to without prebooking a car. So make arrangements in advance. Dinner was excellent and the staff super friendly. The pub was the best and most friendly. We really enjoyed meeting the locals and experiencing their hospitality.
    • Loved the cottage room Beautifully decorated and staff went out of their way to make sure I was given another room when they discovered I couldn't manage stairs very well Also location was great

    Cons -

    • Breakfast buffet was actually poor although cooked breakfast served by lovely friendly staffDidn't like people standing at front door smoking
    • Oh jings , it was noisy at night. We were above the front door and when the folk in the bar left they stood outside talking loudly. A warm night so our window was open . I slept , partner didn't
    • Our twin beds were fairly new but creaked somewhat. Mine so really badly that I couldn't sleep well the first night. The staff did attempt to fix it the next day but with limited success. This is something I will check in advance when we book our next stay... which we certainly will.

Friendly and helpful staff. Superb food; we ate twice at breakfast, once at lunchtime and twice in the evening. The restaurant is also very clean, modern and tastefully decorated. In addition to the food quality we were surprised at the inventive menu which is far better than your normal 'gastro pub' fayre. Food aside, this inn is dog friendly and in a superb location for the huge Luce Bay beach.

Comfortable and clean room. Breakfast and evening meal was really good. Easy parking and great WIFI.

Not really any space to work on a laptop as room was quite compact. Only a small issue, that wouldn't stop me returning.

Hotel is lovely and freshly decorated. Staff very friendly and helpful. Our family room was very clean and comfortable with a huge bathroom that had a great walk in shower. We ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was delicious. Breakfast was good too. A lovely wee place for a stop over or a longer break to explore the area.

The downstairs door banged loudly but it didn't keep us awake, could do with being soft close.

Pleasant outlook, friendly and helpful staff. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. We had a nice dinner and good breakfast. Good value for money

Our bedroom room was not very big, although comfortable but, conversely, the bathroom was very big and quite cold and we couldn't get the towel rail to heat up.

Location and breakfast both first class.

Noise in the street outside my room at 00.35 as people had a conversation before leaving the premises.

Lovely wee village right by the beach. Very peaceful. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice wee bar. Dogfriendly.

    We were happy with everything.

The hotel is located in a very picturesque area and the interior is a perfect blend of the traditional and the modern. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and were perfect for our one-night stay. We had a good dinner at the hotel restaurant and sampled the local 'Tig House' lager which was very nice. Breakfast was generous and was enjoyed very much. The staff were very pleasant and attentive.

Fantastic little cottage next to village pub with tasty food and bar. Metres from the beach. Very friendly staff. Cottage very comfortable and super clean.

    All good

    Dinner and breakfast was lovely

The fire alarm going off at 3am and having to stand outside waiting on a staff member to turn up.

    9SusanPosted on: 7-28-2024

Handy location for ferry. Friendly staff. Comfortable enough beds. Great Wi-Fi. Really nice restaurant with great breakfast. Play park across the road and great beach. My husband stupidly left his wallet in the room and didn’t realise it till we were just getting on the boat. After a quick phone call to hotel the wallet was found and posted back to us with no issues so we were very grateful!

The people in the room next to us were a little noisy going in and out and banging doors so it was hard for my child to get to sleep till later.

    8KayPosted on: 7-27-2024

Staff excellent couldn’t do enough to help with any request. Asked for couple of extra things and were brought to room straight away. Also we were too early for restaurant so one of the staff asked if the take away out back would make macaroni for my grandson and they did which was really good. We would recommend it and would use again if we are down this way.

The room could do with freshening up, few bits of paint peeling and flaking off. Also could have been bit cleaner there was dog food under single bed. Grandson fell down back of bed which was small space not very safe for smaller children.

What a great hotel. The room was spotless and the bathroom clean with a great shower. The food was amazing and so fresh. The room was facing the beach and was so quiet even with the window open all night.

Outstanding food, fabulous location, very dog friendly, lovely staff, welcoming locals

    7AlisonPosted on: 7-26-2024

The furnishing both in the dining area and rooms were very new and to high standard. The breakfast chef was excellent and very personable. Evening meal also very enjoyable. The young bar staff team also vey good and warmly welcoming.

The early bird menu could have wider hours. The hearing in the room was broken resulting in poor nights sleep, even with the fan, and child burning hand. The door both to the bedrooms and in the dining room slammed very aggressively. We could hear other guests entering and exiting their rooms throughout the stay. The dining room door into the corridor also slammed throughout breakfast each morning as staff moved around the hotel.
