Dinner was amazing, the service excellent. Loved watching the squirrels in the morning while we are breakfast.
Excellent bed, excellent bath and excellent breakfast
Our room was small and stuffy, I would not have booked if I knew it's former servants quarters.
Another fabulous stay at this hotel. Our room was upgraded which was a lovely surprise. Our bedroom and bathroom were stunning. We loved the ice water and cake every day.The breakfast was delicious, with lots of choice. The staff were all very helpful, friendly and professional. We will be back!!!
Lovely and catered for my gluten free
Not sure we wanted the disabled room. Would have preferred a normal room on higher floor
Lovely setting, beautiful room and excellent breakfast
super friendly and helpful staff - nice personal touches. comfortable accommodation.
I had to leave early so missed the breakfast - my fault! hotel did their best to accommodate!
Location was great and very close to everything we wanted to visit. The hotel is beautiful and our stay has been perfect. Forest Side is the best hotel we have ever stayed in and I would love to visit again. The staff are friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. I felt so relaxed and at home at the hotel. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful grounds. We saw two deers walking in the gardens outside while eating our breakfast. The rooms have lots of little touches from luxury toiletries to a cake of the day provided for us to enjoy. I would highly recommend to everyone .
The location is wonderful. A short, pretty walk to the village of Grasmere. The bed was huge and comfortable. Really loved breakfast too.
The room wasn't as advertised. We thought we were getting a free standing bath tub and a large room with windows facing the garden. While we were facing the garden, the windows were small and the room was oddly shaped with a weird annex, not at all as the photos. The bathroom also did not have a free standing bath tub. Just felt a bit like we didn't get what we paid for.
The breakfast was exceptional plenty of choice, cooked really well and served with style.our room was of a very high standard, this was shown in the fixtures and fittings, along with the comfort of the high class linens and bedding. right through to the luxury bath products.
nothing at all.
everything ! the location , the staff , the food , the ambience
was a bit hot in the rooms
Very nice spacious bathroom with lots of light and nice design
We travelled with a small child and right during the check in we were made to feel unwelcome. We were told about not being able to have dinner at the restaurant because of the small child and left with no options of dining in the room or anything else. While I haven't seen anything about child restrictions on their website or booking and was not aware about it, I could have understood that this was the policy at the hotel, it's just that the communication was almost hostile towards us. We tried to ask for any options, but everything was just a no answer. We haven't even been provided with any help or information on any dining options within the town of Grasmere. At this level of price I would have expected some hospitality during from the reception staff. We have felt unwelcome during our stay at the hotel. Considering the high prices I have expected better service.
The location is stunning and the staff were so lovely throughout our stay. Beautiful Bramley products in the bathroom and reception. Had the best night sleep after a long drive. Delicious breakfast in bed.
Only staying one night and the restaurant not being open sadly!
A great hotel with good service. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was very good. We only stayed one night (Tuesday) so did not get to experience the evening meal. We would stay again
Only 2 very minor niggles which did not detract from the stay - we stayed in Spruce and there is an extremely 'squeaky' floor board which could really annoy. Also the loo roll holder was totally out of keeping with the room and was not very functional -
Ground floor room, very spacious, lovely location and very peaceful
Great location. Extremely professional staff. Beautiful rooms, finished to a really high standard with a fab range of toiletries etc. Fresh cakes, iced water, fresh milk in rooms on arrival. Great breakfast. Beautiful setting/garden great for spotting red squirrels. Lovely bar area.
Nothing! Just wish we had tried the restaurant during our stay!
Restaurant was incredible - Michelin star genius cooking! We had a deluxe/master room and it was beautiful - simple decor, luxurious, lovely views, great bathroom. Relaxing stay with awesome food. Would highly recommend.
Loved how big the rooms were & the location with beautiful landscape around the hotel.
Was surprised there wasn’t a safe and refrigerator. Didn’t mind the safe so much but would’ve been great to have a fridge to keep my baby’s food in. However, staff were very accommodating so I’m sure they would’ve dealt with this if I asked.
