    Pros +

    • Staff were very friendly and helpful and tried their best to resolve any issues. Room was comfortable, as was the en suite bath, which we had particularly wanted rather than a shower. Everything very convenient.
    • The situation is beautiful New shower room in Number 2 is superb
    • Staff very friendly. Terrific location.

    Cons -

    • We did unfortunately have a problem with no hot water coming out of the sink tap, which the attentive management did try to fix but it needed a plumber. Would have liked the tea facilities renewed daily in the room.
    • Room a bit chilly at night
    • The room was very cold.

Nice location, friendly staff. Food is very good. The room was quite cold even with the radiator on full. Cobwebs were disappointing around the room and walls.

    Location

No heating in room shower leaks bed uncomfortable Couldn't find keys for room (gave to someone else)Then ringing me after 11.30 pm to see if I'm going to check in !!!!

Breakfast was very quiet , could do with a little background music . We were the only ones in the restaurant. Location has a lovely view at the end of the car park .

Room was a little dated , bed dipped badly in the middle resulting in waking many times in pain and being uncomfortable next morning. Breakfast was cold. strange atmosphere in bar , bad language overheard.

Great location, food and staff. Perfect for our family of six looking to break up a journey on the A1.

Few bits of cosmetic detailing could be improved - there's potential here for quite a bougie boutique hotel but for the price this could not be improved. Plumbing quite noisy.

Dirty room. So many cobwebs. Dusty. Heating on full and broken so unable to turn off. Was told there was no family room available so booked two rooms to then find one room had a double and a single bed in it. Didn’t need the second room but had to pay for it anyway. Powdered mash. Powdery gravy. Sat in a badly decorated room on our own to eat.

Very comfy bed, nice breakfast, great location, friendly staff. Nice and quiet. I liked the chalet style rooms. Plenty of parking space.

The attached pub closed early, but other than that, everything was great.

A great place to stay - the staff were great from arrival and throughout the day.A lovely room and setting, overlooking the lake. Thanks so much - really enjoyed it. x

The rooms are away from the pub, with their own entrance, and the beer garden with the river is just beautiful.

    Beautiful location Comfy bedExcellent breakfast

Lack of information in rooms ie. Menus for dinner and breakfast, hotel overview/facilities.

Lovely location and very pretty grounds. But would not stay again.

The room smelt of smoke and no towels. Had to go and ask for these. The breakfast service was not great. Very slow and my breakfast was brought out and eaten before my husband’s. When questioned the waiter said it wasn’t his fault it was owner wife cooking with a broken wrist.

Very nice location, pretty river at the bottom of the garden. Large, comfortable bedrooms. Nice breakfast in the comfortable dining room.

The pub restaurant wasn't open the night we stayed (a Monday), but the staff were very helpful and directed us to a very nice pub only 5 mins drive away.

Very dated not worth the asking price .didn't stay even thou it was paid for

Wasnt like the pictures .cobwebs over the entrance door very dull interior very dated marks on mucky walls iron burn marks on carpet .very noisy boiler in room .came back to room 11.ish no one around to complain .so didn't stay! got in at days inn 5 mins away £59 100% better than the £102 we paid for this not worth it .had stopped in another b&b the night before the same price including breakfast .very poor for what they was asking for plus was 20 extra for breakfast .days inn at £59 was a Palace compared to this and days inn arent good .that bad my partner refused to stay ??

Breakfast was good. Room was great and service was excellent.

Perhaps there was miscommunication in the breakfast timings but that was not a problem given the reason for my stay.

    9SelfPosted on: 4-2-2024

We didnt get chance to try breakfast as we left at 05.30!

We needed more time to have tried dining at this pub but we were only staying a very short time

    7PaulPosted on: 1-13-2024

The bar area really nice and staff friendly good selection of beers breakfast was very nice and plenty of it

Room was very cold heating came on but wasn't on long ,New year's eve buffet was very basic for the money we have stayed before and the pub menu and food was extremely higher standard

    3TheresePosted on: 1-5-2024

The staff were lovely. The room was clean and in very pretty location.

The room was very cold. The heating went off as we arrived and although I told the staff about it, it never came on. The room was freezing !! It was New Years Eve and a very cold night. The morning was worse. The hotel was apologetic but it is shame they didn’t do anything about it.
