Breakfast, fair. Location great.

The hotel is very worn, in need of total refurbishing and repair. The woman serving the food was also cleaning bathrooms.

Location was good for us.

In dire need of care and attention in all aspects. The whole property is grubby and not cared for. Heating on full and could not be adjusted, impossible to sleep. Very poor mattress needs replacing. Probably the worst breakfast ever. Preordered the night before we still had to wait 35 minutes, no cereal, no real fruit juice( just a tetra pack of orange drink and plastic cups dumped on the table) sour baked beans in a chipped and cracked ramekin. Easy over egg served snotty. No staff till 8.00, we asked for breakfast at 8.00 which we were told was fine.

It was in an ideal place

The room was big. we had to ask for a TV as the one in our room had broken and had been removed. There was a wooden outside seat with no cushions used as a sofa. The chef forgot we had booked breakfast. The cleaner was very helpful and tried to help by making tea and toast.

Location is ideal for North York moors and coast but in light of our experience would not use!

There was no running cold water in the room. Informed the barman and went out for the evening. On return nothing done. Barman informed us he had told the landlady. Nothing from her that night or the followng morning. So no cold water available to us at all for drinking or washing etc. Breakfast was appalling -0mlette, toast and sausages were burnt black and unedible.Television did not workCommunicated with the property via the Booking.com email and messaging system. No response at all from the property

Extremely Disorganised. No tables set up for breakfast at all. Burnt sausages and burnt fried eggs at breakfast and beans tasted vinegary, not even a teapot - we were given a teabag by the house keeping lady who was doubling up as waitress along with a coffee pot of hot water to make our own tea in the cup!!! The TV in the room didn't work - my husband had to re- connect the aerial to the socket in order to get a signal. The Manageress never showed her face, another guest that arrived the day before us and was staying longer had been asking to see her since he'd arrived and just kept getting excuses and apologies from the other staff. Room very tired.Not at all worth anywhere near the price paid.

Location was perfect. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Stairs badly needed a hoover. Our bathroom main light didn't work and we had no hot water. When we told a member of staff on departure morning there was no apology just said they knew about it and were waiting for a plumber and electrician but nothing was said when we arrived and booked in. When I booked breakfast the evening beforehand the Chef was sitting at the bar and didn't know what a vegetarian breakfast was he had never been asked for one before!!! The fried egg was extremely overcooked, the beans looked like they were a week old and just heated in the microwave and tasted horrible my husband said and the rest wasn't enjoyable. I had asked for poached eggs on toast and got 1 slice of toast and 1 egg. There were no cereals or toast and marmalade on offer. I asked for coffee which came from a machine that seriously needed to be cleaned as the coffee was full of lumps and undrinkable. I asked for an instant coffee instead but the lady used the water that had been standing for a time so it was only lukewarm. All together very disappointing and not good value. I would appreciate your comments and a partial refund and would certainly not recommend it to anyone.

There was a message for me bottom of the toilet if you know what I mean we was not informed about the closed kitchen although they say that they did inform you but booking . com said you wouldn't let us know then as the kitchen was closed there would be a continental breakfast we said that was ok we ended up with with toast that was our breakfast with a hot drink so the next day we didn't have any breakfast there we to another place for breakfast also the TV was not working in any room got it on the last night outside of the back suppose to be the garden space to sit outside well on your site in the pictures look totally different it was rough and my bed was the most thinnest mattress ever felt all the springs

Absolutely nothing

Everything there was no nice welcome as the landlady was drunk. The room was filthy hairs in the bed and the bathroom had not been cleaned. Breakfast had said to of been included however was not

Too early breakfast because of a far too breakfast which we didn't make.The room was VERY noisy on a very busy road so couldn't sleep at all!!

Lack of paid for breakfast on day one. It was served far too late

Its location which was convenient to get to places we wanted to visit. Booking.com was very kind to give me a credit for the inconvenience that we faced during our stay at The New Inn. Thank you, Booking.com.

The room was not very well lit but it was spacious for two of us. Heaters were not turned on throughout our stay. The worse was we paid for accommodation WITH DAILY BREAKFASTS FOR 2 but no breakfasts were served and the staff did not even inform us. We sat in the pub where breakfasts were supposed to be served and waited for nearly 30min but there was not a single staff in sight. Called the number given and the person who answered the call said he would check in with the manager and nobody got back to us. On the second day evening, we asked the staff at the bar and he said they would refund for the breakfasts that we had paid during our booking. It has been more than a week and nobody from hotel responded to my endless messages to them. Do book with caution.

The room was very spacious and clean, tea, coffee and biscuits provided, slept really well!

Room was comfy and heating was on. Good location for places to grab some dinner.Pub prices were good compared to what we had expected for a country pub in York.

The TV would switch off after about 15 mins of watching and there was no settings to stop this from happening.4 out of the 6 bulbs in the room didn't work so the room was quite dimly lit.When we arrived my friend asked for fried egg on toast for breakfast and she ended up with a fried egg sandwich.

First night owners had some kind of disagreement and running and banging doors all nightNext morning a note and £20.00 to go and get breakfast That night no food served as fridges went down closed pub at 8ishDidn't see anyone for a day. Left a day early would there be a chance of a refund for the last night?I wouldn't recommend this place it was beautiful from outside but tired inside and smelt of smoke. Whole place needs a lift
