Pros +
- The comfort of the room and facilities in the room. The view from the room was exceptional. Ting restaurant for breakfast was good a nice variety a lovely restaurant.
- Everything about the hotel was amazing can’t explain individually would take too long, just breathtaking but I will note specifically the staff are there for every one of your needs and do their best to ensure most comfortable visit.
- I had a wonderful stay - it's a unique experience just to stay in such a unique building.I was upgraded on arrival to the most beautiful corner room with panoramic views over Tower Bridge. The room was beautifully cleaned, so comfortable and the soaking tub was perfect after a long day exploring. The cocktails in the Ting Lounge were delicious (and what a view to go with them!)The sky pool was a relaxing place to sit, I had it to myself with a book for an hour or so. Staff were really attentive and service was well balanced (present without being in your face). The location is perfect for loads of amazing restaurant options nearby, and easy access to lots of major sites.
Cons -
- A long wait for the lifts. Late (standard) check in time of 4pm would like it to be earlier.
- Nearly missed out on going in the infinity pool because a family with kids took the whole pool and we’re going crazy, maybe need to open later for adults only who just want to relax and soak in the amazing view, doesn’t need to be staffed.
- There are no spa facilities on-site, though treatments can be arranged.Obviously it is pricey to stay, but I do think you get what you pay for given the prime location and quality.

From the minute we arrived, we were very impressed with our welcome when checking in & the service we got from then onwards was excellent. The view from our room was spectacular.Dinner and breakfast at Ting were lovely and again the staff were lovely. We were there celebrating my husband's 70th birthday and when we got to our room, there was a small birthday cake waiting for him which was unexpected and a lovely surprise!
Nothing!
Fabulous furnishings and smelled delightful
6pounds for a kitkat from mini bar I found ridiculous
I loved the view, that was easily the most breath taken I’ve been ever. Having a sauna, gym and a pool on the 52nd floor roughly 600ft in the air. It is phenomenal. I’d do it again and again.
Great view, and fantastic bed
Gym too small and limited equipment
Sangria La in The Shard is an iconic hotel in a fantastic location. A fantastic experience. We enjoyed the swimming pool on the 52nd floor, the highest in Western Europe.
Definitely not cheap, but this is understandable.
Excellent room with spectacular view of London.Staff were amazing and very helpful throughout stay
I really liked how welcoming the staff was and how attentive they were! The room had beautiful views, it felt like a penthouse which is what I want to live in in the future so I felt very much at home.
My room was not yet properly made up when I entered, some of the bottles in the bathroom were empty. I also didn't like how sparse the afternoon tea was, I left much of it behind and still had to pay £100. Apart from that the stay was amazing!!
The staff! Attention to our every need before and during the stay recognising it as a celebratory treat. Early check in, window seat for breakfast and pool slots were all accommodated and it was much appreciated
The staff, the room, the pool, the binoculars, the view!!
Excellent facilities, incredible hotel room, friendly stuff - my parents loved it. I got them this gift for Christmas so the fact they loved it so much really made me happy. The staff were super friendly apparently, the pool was superb and had good allowance of time of an hour to swim and admire the views of London.Check in was a bit late - I would have preferred 3pm check in but 4pm works.
Only downside would be the price - I understand why it is as much money as it is however with 5 star hotels like Montcalm royal which offers breathtaking views (not as good as the Shangri La) but definitely worth it for almost 1/3 of the price, I believe the Shangri La should try and be more competitive on pricing - I would happily pay £450 for one night however felt £560 was more of a special occasion type of stay rather than a frequent visiting hotel which I was hoping to do. However I will be staring again.
The only positive thing was the view.
Our second stay was deeply disappointing and nothing like our first five star experience. Poor communication, billing mistakes, underwhelming rooms at £800 per night, inconsistent service, and being left without any dining options while staying with a child showed a clear lack of care. This felt like an overpriced four star hotel trading on its view, not a five star experience worth returning to.
Amazing views, great service, insane food.
Nothing. All was great - highly recommended
Room was lovely and staff were friendly
Price on items were insane, £5 for a can of coke from the fridge , daylight robbery especially when you’re paying £800+ for the room
Luxurious surroundings,great food and drink,great staff.7
Excellent views
TV channel choice poor and no stereo to connect to, or not obvious to me
Beautiful, clean, great staff, great location. Can't do better.
Only that we couldn't stay longer.
The views, best in London
Just didn’t feel luxurious ie in lobby etc although staff extremely friendly and helpful the personal touches such as decor and above liaisons and service wasn’t there and hated the breakfast buffet set up and service
Location view and staff
Price was a little overpriced
