Cons -
- We upgraded and still had a room that we could bearly move around in. Tiny, compact, ridiculously small. The elevator needs to be seen to be believed
- Nothing negative at all
- My safe in the room was broken, there was noise above my room very early every morning and the rate of the rooms was very high for the quality of the stay.

Convenient location
My safe in the room was broken, there was noise above my room very early every morning and the rate of the rooms was very high for the quality of the stay.
The location was great, very close to the underground and cafes. The staff were super friendly and helpful.
The lift and stairs were extremely tight and not convenient especially with luggages. Wifi was not working in the room. Also A/C wasn’t heating fast enough.
Loved the location/proximity to many desirable streets, shops and tube stations… Nice, fairly quiet street. Most of all, the staff could not have been friendlier and more helpful from arrival to departure.
My original reservation was for a “ deluxe double room”… It was in fact extremely small and cramped(!), unsuitable for more than one person, and the bathroom was extremely sub-par in every way! It really should have been categorized at best as a “standard double”. While the staff very kindly upgraded me at no charge to a larger, better room ( one which should have in fact been the one described as “deluxe double”), I generally found the room classification to be very misleading and inaccurate, and I wouldclearly have to pay a higher rate next time around for a proper room worthy of being described as “deluxe” and not “ premier deluxe”…
Room was upper level. Breakfast had options, opted for the continental breakfast.
Location of room was confusing, between floors two sets of stairs. This is structural and not changeable.
Lovely bright clean room. Perfect location for my hospital appointment. Very quiet. Lots of restaurants to choose from close by. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again, and recommend to others.
Nothing to dislike.
The elegant modern decor and warm staff make Sydney House the perfect spot for a several day stay. It is located in a Chelsea neighborhood in easy hailing distance of South Kensington tube station and numerous bus routes and a quick walk to King’s Road and Sloane Square. Staff are super helpful and responsive and after a long day out and about it feels like coming home.
The sound insulation in the stairwell is a bit lacking so late night arrivals make a bit of clatter, but on the whole it’s quiet despite being on a moderately trafficked street.
Great location - so near the Kings Road and Sloane Square and a five minute walk to the Royal Brompton ( the reason we were there)
The room we were given ( we were supposedly upgraded )was ok.it had a fabulous terrace outside but not much use in the winter months. The room was in the eaves and was quite restrictive but adequate. I realise we were in a fabulous area.
1 out of 10 – Completely Misrepresented on Booking.comOur experience at the Sydney Chelsea Hotel was extremely disappointing. The property looks nothing like the photos or descriptions shown on Booking.com. The room was dirty and poorly maintained — dust and dirt everywhere, exposed wiring, and a generally neglected condition.
We ended up leaving the hotel on the same day and booking another place through Booking.com (DoubleTree by Hilton London Victoria) because staying there was impossible. It’s shocking that such a property is still listed on Booking.com with misleading photos. We have already submitted a complaint and requested a refund.
Very comfortable room in a great location and good greeting at reception. I particularly liked the super comfy bed. In addition the selection of fine teas and toiletries plus nice towels and robes were a great touch. The room wasn't large but it was well laid out so I had sufficient space for my things. Although centrally located I found it quite quiet and slept well.
Because it's an old building the lift is tiny and there were then a few steps to my room. It was OK for me but maybe wouldn't suit some.
Best location in South Kensington. Comfortable rooms and great staff!
Need to be happy climbing stairs if you’re on the 3rd floor ?
Very good location for the price. Good breakfast and comfortable rooms, bed.
Courteous, responsive and accomodating staff. A;ways ready to lend a hand.
Bedroom and bathroom were too small. In bathroom no place to put toiletries, had to put them on the floor.
The location was excellent, easy walking distance to the underground, museums and Royal Albert Hall. Various eating options nearby.Staff friendly and helpful.Tea and coffee and toiletries in room of high quality.
Although the level of cleanliness was high, it was dissapointing that there was a large crack in the wash basin. I did bring this to the attention of the receptionist. I would have scored them even higher if this wasn't the case.
Great location if you need to be in Chelsea. Room was very small and the electrics switched themselves off twice. Bathroom also tiny with a shower that runs hot and cold. The lift is big enough for one person and a bag, quite funny really. Overall it’s expensive for a tiny room.
Room was very small. Shower didn’t keep a constant temperature.
Very conveniently located. Welcoming staff. Nicely decorated.
Lift incredibly small and claustrophobic, used it for bags only and took stairs.
Shower room larger than I expected. Bed was comfy. Location good for the LOC and hospital.
The reception staff were quite unhelpful during check-in. I accidentally made two bookings for the same room—one by my husband and another by myself—under the same name but through different booking systems. It was clearly a mistake. I wasn't aware of this error until the staff said "Oh yes we have two bookings for you!" When I asked if they could do anything about this double booking (I was clearly not going to use two rooms) the staff member simply responded saying "You'll need to email the manager; there's nothing I can do." I did reach out to the manager via email, but I have yet to receive a response. While I acknowledge that the error was mine, I requested that they take into account the possibility of human error, but I received no acknowledgment. As a result, I cannot recommend this hotel. A response would have made a significant difference!
