Merryburn Rooms

The room was so cozy and yet nicely furnished, plus it had essentially a full kitchen. When I saw it I wished I would have booked a longer stay! The owner, Hilary, was so sweet, she said the heating wasn’t working well so she set up this lovely little fireplace-shaped extra heater in the room before I arrived. It was necessary, as it was fantastically cold for those days. It’s also so close to the station! And it was an easy walk to get to groceries, restaurants, and some of the most lovely hiking trails I’ve ever been on. I couldn’t believe how inexpensive it was, considering how charming the place was. The snow just made everything that much more magical. I can’t understand why the place wasn’t mobbed with tourists.

There was just one thing, and I think it probably wouldn’t bother most people, but there are gaps in the door big enough to let sound in quite easily. I have a sensitivity to sound, so even light noises of other people talking are hard for me. Thankfully there were just a couple of short conversations in the evenings.

We liked the room as had a kitchenette which allowed us to cook our meals. The room was spacious and comfortable. We recommend staying here if travelling NC500. The owner was very welcoming and we enjoyed our stay

I loved my stay. My single room was upgraded to a studio. I had a lot of space and a kitchenette to prepare my meals. Lovely space, lovely host and a very good location.

I LOVED this room! It was called "The Wee Room". It was sooo cozy and charming and a great price! 10/10 would stay again! Theres a cute little garden and a cafe within walking distance. I also appreciate anywhere with free parking. The room came with everything I needed for tea even a little tiny milk <3

This was absolutely charming! So straight forward on arrival and my room was stunning. I was given a little upgrade which was a pleasant surprise. The cost was also a bargain and I got so much for what I paid. Fantastic facilities. Brilliant location, gorgeous room and I felt so rested! Thank you so much. Highly recommended!

So convenient to the village, warm and friendly check-in, and very clean.

Beautifully restored old building, close to town but quiet. Many special touches, especially in the mini kitchen - real milk, coffee/tea, even an air fryer.

Beds were not very comfortable but I mentioned this to Hilary, our host, and got a message next day that she is replacing them. Now this property is perfect!

Great little find, comfy, great value for money for a solo traveller (stayed in the wee room) and a great location.

The room was very spacious, the facilities much better than I expected and the staff were helpful and friendly. Location was great as well.

It had all the facilities someone would need and the location is great for outdoor activities or visiting Dunkeld. It was a peaceful B and B.

Everything. So relaxed. Well-equipped. The location for Birnham Arts was great for this particular trip. We've stayed here several times and hope to do so many times into the future.

Nothing at all

Excellent value for money. The room is small but has all you need for a short stay. I particularly liked the mini-fridge with a pint of milk for tea/coffee - a very nice touch. There is parking outside for car drivers, but if, like me, you arrive by train, it is important to be fairly close to the station and Merryburn is very close. Also, it is very handy for Birnam Arts Centre.

Quiet, comfortable, well equipped, spotless, spacious, warm, exceptional power shower, close to town and train station/bus stop. Parking available if you come by car.

Lovely welcome, was kindly upgraded to a twin suite with kitchenette..so can't comment on the budget single I booked...but it was just so comfortable, quiet ( in March) and well set up .

Lovely room with beautiful furnishings. Was really impressed with the room size and how nice the room was. The Kitchen facilities were awesome and the addition of the air-fryer was a nice surprise that made self-catering easy.
