This is a great hotel that offers a real taste of luxury. From the moment we arrived, being welcomed with a wee dram, to the spa facilities and the food in the restaurant -everything was exceptional and a lovely get-away for our anniversary. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.
The location is not ideal for public transport sadly, which is not the hotel's fault but a warning to others not to depend on taxis. We coudn't get a taxi from the station either on arrival or when leaving despite trying to book the day before (there are only two local taxis and neither was working on the Sunday). It's quite a long walk (about 2 miles) from the train station which isn't much fun with bags in the rain but some other kind guests offered us a lift part of the way when we arrived.
Beautiful surroundings to explore outdoors and spacious indoor swimming pool with leisure club
We have been multiple times to your hotel and have always enjoyed ourselves. The staff and the standard of food are excellent.
We were in a room for a disabled person and found the facilities a bit awkward. We also thought the prices for some of the meal courses and some of the drinks were excessive.
Everything. Clean, tidy, welcoming
Having to go home.
Property is situated on a very picturesque estate surrounded by wooded areas perfect for walks and very close to the Main Street in dunkeld which has nice shops, cafes and pubs. Staff throughout the building were friendly, polite and helpful.
The rooms are clearly modern with a classic feel staying true to the nature of the property, however had no fridge which was an inconvenience. We booked this for a spa break which was not the relaxing trip we hoped for. The pool area was full of screaming children and was quite cold so not relaxing at all. The sauna had a broken heat element so was not at full temperature, it was still a nice change from the cold air at the pool. The pool, gym, sauna etc are all used by locals and as there was a gym class on after the kids had left the pool, it was then very busy again. No option to have drinks, nibbles etc at the pool either. Again not essential, but having stayed at many other spa hotels I stupidly assumed this was just standard. Prices for spa treatments were normal for a spa hotel, overpriced but expected. Bugs in the hotel downstairs as the doors are left open to the spa area, I was shocked having lived in Scotland my whole life to come across a cockroach for the first time. Dinner in the restaurant was lacking, fair enough we had booked for 8:30pm and I imagine by that time staff want to wrap up for the night but we found it difficult to flag down anyone for condiments etc. The lobster was so overcooked it was like rubber, could have bounced it off the walls, bland and not very hot. Also was served with chips and “salad” aka pea shoots and rocket. The venison however was delicious. One starter between 2, 2 mains and a bottle of wine £140. Not over extravagant prices but I still wouldn’t recommend for the price. And as I didn’t eat the lobster I was left hungry.Overall, it’s a beautiful building with spectacular views and the potential to be a relaxing get away but we were left unimpressed and disappointed by the stay.
It’s in a great location with plenty of walks around. The staff were very friendly and service was excellent.
Absolutely stunning place to go to, really enjoyed our time here even for just a night. The staff were so friendly from check in to check out, they even help my partner propose to me while we were here. We absolutely loved our time and hope to be back soon
The location is absolutely stunning. 50 yards from the banks of the river Tay. Various walks to enjoy in some of Scotlands best scenery. We didn't do the spa so can't comment on that. The staff were super friendly and really made us feel welcome. They couldn't do enough for us. The food was excellent and the bar prices were reasonable aswell. The hotel is beautifully decorated.
There was nothing we didn't like. Can't fault the hotel or its staff at all.
Location and friendly staff, spa great and conservatory dining area lovely.
Decor extremely dark (black painted doors and fittings) in places, very heavy on the antler theme for light fittings.
Lovely location. Very good breakfast
Restaurant very expensive
Great hotel in a lovely location on the banks of River Tay . Fine food and good service from the friendly staff too
Room, view, staff, food, massages, quad biking
Very good breakfast, water was always very hot, all room were warm and the food in the evening in the main was very good.
Cullen skink soup didn’t contain any fish - disappointing.
Dog friendly and gorgeous walks.
Didn’t get shown to wade suites and was quite dark and couldn’t find our room after getting keys at reception.
Really cosy vibes with lots of nice common areas to sit in, read a book and have a drink.
We’ve stayed twice now in two different rooms and the beds are just so uncomfortable and noisy. I think some rooms have been done up now so we will look to try book one of them if we stay again.
Awful At this price point in ostensibly luxury hotel , coffee and toast she be brought. Not made yourselfNo eggs cooked to order but grim buffet Pancakes were nice
Room v small Upgraded at cost as for 195£ on a Sunday in February I wasn’t expecting a view of the car park
We love this hotel and keep coming back! The location is perfect. The hotel has been recently refurbished so it’s very comfortable. The staff are so friendly and professional it just adds to the experience. Highly recommended!
