Good bar food. Bar staff and breakfast staff friendly.

Atmosphere in bar uncomfortable due to group of noisy (and swearing) regulars making it feel like a private party.

The staff were really lovely and helpful with you and a really good and friendly bar staff , our meal was very good and our breakfast to we will be back

On a busy road. Though this wasn’t too bad, there was a loose manhole cover and every time a vehicle went over it there was a loud noise.

Location was great.central with easy access to public transport.hotel was spotless.staff friendly especially in downstairs bar.food was excellent and reasonably priced .

Breakfast was good and staff very friendly and attentive.Food came quickly and was hot.Felt comfortable…nothing pretentious!

The only issue would have been that our beds were very comfortable but the rest of the family found beds very hard but this may be a personal preference because we are all different.

This is a traditional hotel in the centre of the town. Breakfast is very good and comes quickly.

Our room faced the street which could be noisy with traffic in the early morning and late at night. We are used to a very quiet environment at home.

We just had a light breakfast which was ok

Bed was not that comfortable and the duvets were far too small on the twin beds, they would be fine for children but not large enough for grown adults.

Friendly staff, uncomplicated check in, but..

Very, very noisy kitchen fan and/or washing machine or something like that, keeping me up until 2 am. It varied in intensity but the noise reminded me of the ferry engine. Maybe this does not apply to all the rooms, so beware of NR. 8. And the kitchen fan does not even seem to work properly, at about 8am an intense smell of frying waffted trough the whole house. Also we heard every word and movement from the adjoining room. The carpets seemed not to clean, the whole outfit needs some work. I can't understand how this place can get such a good score

Lovely hotel, staff were really friendly and room was clean and breakfast was excellent and good value for money.

Our room was directly above the bar which didn’t close until 1am. When we got back at 10pm the bass was thumping through floor till midnight and we could hear every person who was nipping out for a smoke from the bar as the windows didn’t seem to block out any noise.

Good location for my needs. All staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was good quality.

Lovely staff, very welcoming. Comfortable beds, nice clean bathroom. Outdoor garden was nice to sit in and have a glass of wine

Breakfast ended at 09:30, which was a bit early for my taste. The room only had 1 window that barely opened, so it stayed warm at night which made it a bit uncomfortable when trying to sleep. However, it was very warm for Scotland so this won’t be a problem most of the year.
