Rooms Above Sugar Boat

Fabulous big room, (Room 4) very comfortable bed, plus a sofa bed as well, large bathroom, friendly and helpful staff and an amazing breakfast, definitely will be back again when visiting friends in Helensburgh.

It was clean and nicely decorated. We came very late and the steer was very empty which was not very nice but probably is common for a small town. The breakfast was great. And overall stay was nice as well:)

Central location in the middle of Helensburgh,Food is excellent, the rooms are spotlessly clean and tidy,The staff are always helpful and friendly, I would definitely recommend.

A very clean, cosy room in a central location. Excellent facilities and friendly staff.

This is the second time we book this place and this room, because we loved it the first time. Second time, nothing to complain about. The room was just as lovely, although really hot as that was during the heatwave (not much they can do about that!). Perfect location as it is right in Helensburgh, the room is massive and beautiful. We also had dinner in the restaurant below (like the first time). And again it was just as good as the first time.

The location. Close to sea front. Busy outside but calm in room.

Nothing. Room was comfortable with water, tea & coffee available. Very clean and homely.

It was bright, obviously newly decorated and was incredibly comfortable as well as being a decent size.Great selection of tea and coffee plus biscuits.Good storage Very clean!

The flooring was slightly uncomfortable to walk on in bare feet- that’s the only thing I can think of!

Charming pub with good food, and comfy and (crucially) warm room.

Expensive at 180 GBP for one night without breakfast.

Our stay at the sugar boat was amazing. We arrived to check in and the staff we really friendly. We stayed in room 2 which was super comfy and had what we needed, everything was so clean and the shower is definitely 1 of the best.We went into the sugar boat and had a couple of cocktails, it's great to be able to watch them being made and as it ad been really warm.the frozen strawberry daquari was so refreshing.The bed was really comfy and the quilt is definitely now on my shopping list.

Its not really a 'not like', because there is nothing that can be done about the very small room. No big deal, but for over £100/night I guess I had I had an expectation of a standard sized hotel room. It didn't detract from our two day stay.

Location was excellent. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Room was very quiet.

Room was smaller than expected. View was disappointing as was of rooftop vents.For price paid would have expected breakfast to be included.

Very clean and lots of tea and coffee and biscuits provided. Bathroom spotless .The room we had was a steep climb of stairs so not suitable for lots of baggage or poor mobility .

First time staying in The Sugarboat and it was excellent. Beautiful room, great location and food amazing. All the staff were lovely and attentive and my wife said it was nice to see the chefs dancing and singing along to the music while they worked. Will definitely stay again.

Very stylish and more importantly comfortable. Decorated and finished to the highest standard with guest comfort being of the utmost importance.Would fully recommend to anyone and the staff were the most friendly, helpful and respectful you would ever want to meet.

we have stayed before, and revisiting family in Helensburgh its a perfect choice. upon arrival we were welcomed by staff and then offered an upgrade to a larger room which we gratefully accepted. anyone looking for a classy place to stay won't go wrong if they chose here.
