    Pros +

    • The staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful. Great location. Nice breakfast.
    • Friendly staffComfortable roomGreat breakfastOverall great feel
    • Brilliant staff, excellent breakfast. A very busy hotel, well organised. The location is beautiful

    Cons -

    • The room was very dated. Old furniture, poor lighting. Bathroom door didn’t close. The bed headboard creaked really loudly even just sitting in bed or standing up from the bed. Not really what we were expecting for the money.
    • Parking, had to park away from the hotel, not enough spaces.
    • Shower controls were worn and getting the right temperature was quite a challenge. Freezing cold or scalding hot was more the norm than the exception.

    Nice room and convenient

My TV didn't work and the only choice for Muesli at breakfast time was Bircher, which was horrible!!I asked for dry muesli, but it was unavailable.

The hotel room was clean and the staff were friendly. The breakfast was really good with lots of variety. Blackheath village is a nice location, close to Greenwich park too.

It was a bit pricey for a single room and later check out would have been better. 10.30 is too early a check out, when our function went on till 1am.

Clean, spacious and well maintained. Good location for 02 and south london.

    Nothing - all good.

Very close to Blackheath station and overlooking a lovely open area. Comfortable, quiet and cosy .

The floors are a bit creaky in line with the age of the building but it adds to the character !

good location. surrounded in history. some parking

    9SuePosted on: 2-15-2026

Room was nice, bit chilly though. Corridors were really hot, we turned radiator on but it was so noisy we had to turn it off overnight.

Breakfast was chaotic and things kept running out and took ages to replace or weren’t replacedcat all.

    7RebeccaPosted on: 2-14-2026

It was clean and tidy. Small room but adequate. Friendly staff and a nice location.

There was a wedding celebration and the music was very loud.

    7JoyPosted on: 2-12-2026

Location was perfect for event er had planned. It’s such a nice area.

The decor is a bit dated but it still has a certain charm about it.

    7LauraPosted on: 2-9-2026

The room suited for a quick couple of days, and is clean, bed was comfortable. Good breakfast, friendly staff.

In need of updating. Bathroom is very small. There is a lamp above the bed, so you can’t sit up and read as the lamp is at the back of your head.No plugs at side of bed.

    Great location and super breakfast

We were told that the bar would be open when we got back from the Charlton match but it had shut early because it had been quiet albeit many other guests had gone to the same game

Friendly staff. Cosy room. Nice English breakfast. Good restaurant for dinner after a hard day.

    8JoannaPosted on: 2-6-2026

The breakfast was very good and the staff very polite

The wall to ender into the shower was a little high

    9ChristinePosted on: 2-5-2026

Good location and parking. Our room was comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was tasty and there was an excellent selection. We will definitely stay there again . All the members of staff we interacted with were smiling and friendly. Highly recommend this hotel. Great value .

We got lost and had trouble finding our room !

    7NicolaPosted on: 2-5-2026

The location was great for my needs. It’s still a bit behind the times with single glazing and keys for the doors but it was clean.

The bed for me was actually too firm. The TV in my room did not work although they were able to fix it once but then not the second time. 3 night stay and they forgot to make up my room on one of those days.

Lovely hotel, right on the Heath. Very friendly staff, excellent parking, lovely breakfast

    8RebeccaPosted on: 2-1-2026

This was our first time returning to Blackheath after moving away, so we had to stay at the Clarendon, of course! We love this hotel - the staff are really friendly and helpful and we got a free upgrade to a big room with a view of the heath which was perfect. Special shout out to the breakfasts here (included with the room) - everything is SO delicious.

The hotel is old and while that adds charm, it probably is in need of a refurbishment. The facilities are nice but tired and you have to be prepared to hear squeaky floorboards whenever you or anyone else around you moves about. The windows are also single glazed, so you do hear noise from the traffic throughout the night (note there is a police station down the road, so it’s likely you will have sirens going up and down the main road at all hours). That said, the bed was super comfy and I actually slept so well despite the surrounding noise!

    Bad

Unfortunately, the reception staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful. The breakfast was good, but nothing special. The rooms were small, cramped, and not very clean. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations.
