Amazing hotel with brilliant helpful staff. Room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. Arrived just before 8pm and the chef stayed late to make my dinner. Beautiful location with amazing views
Beautifully appointed, pleasant staff who where helpful and provided me a sandwich and snack for my early departure
A lovely room with a great view, it was comfortable, clean and warm. The staff were excellent, they were welcoming and helped put our bikes in a safe place for the night. We had a meal in the restaurant which had really good vegetarian options. Easy to get to the ferry the next morning.
Waterfront location with nice views. Somewhat remote location, but they had a good restaurant where we had a good dinner despite a power cut. Room had a view over the quay and was very quiet. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choices.
The Hotel was easy to drive to and well sign posted and was approximately only 11 miles from Kirkwall. The Hotel has a good size Car park at the rear. The Hotel staff were all very efficient and friendly. The breakfast and evening meals were all excellent and very well presented. The bedroom had terrific views.
Nothing really.
Restaurant was goodVery clean roomLovely staff
Terrific staff, especially Kath and Brooke. Clean, well laid out room. Tasty food and good-sized portions. Really, everything you could want.
Nothing. Everything was fine.
View from the room overlooking Burray Harbour and the BoatyardStaff were very good, both checking in and the restaurant. Food was excellentThe hotel was sited on Burray, some 40 minutes from Stromness and 15 minutes from Kirkwall, but the trip to and from the island most days of our stay was interesting as you had to cross the Churchill Barriers and pass the picturesqe Italian Chapel
Only a small point, the room was warm despite the outside weather so we slept with a window open ...... it was very quiet and no traffic noise etc ..... until 5am when the cockerel woke everyone up!
Close location to St Margret Hope ferry terminal; clean and spacious; sea view windows; friendly staff.
Nowhere to walk around nearby
Very comfortable, good food , friendly staff
Very clean and up together. Staff were very helpful and restaurant was good.
Family room is a little tight for headspace given two beds in an attic room with sloped roof.
Excellent breakfast with plenty of choices. Evening meals were excellent. Staff courteous and pleasant. Nice location.
No complaints
Clean, comfy and clean. 10 mins from ferry. Breakfasts and evening meals were great, there was nothing to fault.
There were no negatives.
Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable and clean room with view across the Sound. Plenty of hot water and a shower with good water pressure (unlike many which barely trickle out of the shower head). The food in the restaurant was good, as was the choice you had for breakfast. Location was peaceful and away from the more busy town of Kirkwall, but close enough to the mainland for getting out and about.
The family room (Watersound) was excellent, plenty of room. The restaurant was lovely, service and food were excellent.
There is a bar below the Watersound room, we could hear the music base until 11.30pm.
The hotel was very well managed - staff extremely helpful and friendly. The views from the hotel were beautiful and room very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The evening meal and breakfast were both delicious and the service was very good too.
Nothing - we found our stay very enjoyable.
The food was amazing! The room was comfortable and very clean. The views outstanding! We will definitely be returning as we enjoyed ourselves on our trip to Orkney.
The walls and floors are like paper you can hear people above us moving around late at night.
Breakfast was first class. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Great situation and all in all would thoroughly recommend.
