Pros +
- Beautiful quite site. Lovely room. Spa excellent. Breakfast excellent.
- Room lovely, very nice location, easy parking, very freiendly staff.
- A great hotel in a lovely setting, and with lovely comfortable rooms. The spa was an additional delight where I managed to enjoy the facilities before and after work. Breakfast was great too and the staff were very accommodating of dietary issues
Cons -
- Evening menu a bit fancy for our taste. But loads of excellent places nearby to choose from.
- Staff not attentive enough in lounges, had to go looking for them. Spa showers need maintenance. Food was OK but not great.
- My only grimble was as a lone traveller my breakfast position could have been a little more considered but when I asked to move, so I was no longer looking directly at other guests, I was told the table wasn't being cleaned yet, personally I would have been happy for the few crumbs to be swept away so I could move, by the time I was offered a place to move by the windows I had finished. It meant I felt awkward but then I was on my own and that isn't entirely the responsibility of the hotel but just some consideration.

The hotel is set in a beautiful and tranquil area, the grounds are great for walking around. Unfortunately Bowood House was not open, I was aware before I arrived but only after I had booked, so I will return to see it with my daughter, as it is stunning from the outside. The hotel have pictures of the house, very beautiful, especially the ones with snow.My double room was on the ground floor 105 super quiet, really high ceiling, so it felt very spacoius. bathroom with seperate shower was lovely and the bath extra long. Lots of accessories especially the huge thick robe. The concierge was so lovely and carried my case into my room.I booked two spa treatments and they were so good, Sydney was amazing, I'm now hooked on treatments and will have them more regularly. The spa facilities were really good. The food was delicious especially the Pappardelle and breakfast was perfect. There was a lovely seating area by the front desk with an open fire, I tucked myself away with a glass of wine and my book and enjoyed the peace. Highly recommend this hotel it is very special.

The hotel room, bathroom, and reception staff were amazing. Comfortable bed, and lovely shower. The swimming pool and the spa treatments were great.
The restaurant was very disappointing. Dinner was quite expensive, but for very a small amount of food - and my husband's was cold. The service at breakfast was very slow, and when my "hot" breakfast arrived, it was cold.
Grounds were spectacular Great walking trails Really great staff at front desk and bar Beds were comfy My boyfriend liked the breakfast too
We can’t think of anything actually
Beautiful setting and a lovely room. Made use of the gym and outdoor space. Reception staff were very welcoming.
Breakfast took ages on one occasion but was much quicker on the second (Tuesday). Dinner was also very slow and not especially hot hence our eating out on the second night of our stay. We had a few challenges with the EV charger disconnecting on multiple occasions.
The grounds, spa and restaurant area
Room could have been bigger / better looked after
Beautiful location on the Bowood House estate and surrounded by the Golf Course. Large comfortable room, excellent restaurant and the spa has a large pool which was never crowded. Convenient for Bath and lots of gardens to visit (The Courts, Great Chalfont, Lacock). Loads of local excellent Gastro pubs and good restaurants in Chippenham. Will definitely return.
Breakfast is cooked to order so if you arrive at a busy time (09:00 in our experience) you can wait over half an hour. Which isn't a problem if you're just relaxing but could be if you have a schedule.
Location, golf, walks, view from room. Always a friendly greeting from staff.
The shampoo/conditioner was not up to the standard expected.
Hotel facilities were excellent as was the dinnr in the restaurant.
My wife booked a spa treatment which was cancelled due to sickness, the service she received was not very good.
Beautiful hotel & grounds, amazing food in lovely surroundings, staff were so helpful & friendly, couldn’t do enough for us, mother, daughter & toddler girls trip. Spa was excellent, best treatment ever, so relaxing and welcoming. Access to Bowood house & gardens was fabulous especially the play area
There was nothing we didn’t like
The food and staff were really great. The room had everything, and what a view! (over the practice holes at the front). What a wonderful breakfast. Having specific pool times for the children was really excellent. During a wander in the woods we saw the resident deer, and what a sight!
The dinner was very fancy, but the portions a little small. Sometimes the service was slow.
Very nice rooms. Breakfast good especially bacon
Dinner mixed quality, overpriced, inattentive service.Front desk a bit cold on arrival and departure
Very good location and excellent facilities
Disappointed with some breakfasts. Sometimes service slow and on occasions over cooked.
Spa, gardens, people
Slow service on dinner
Room grounds spa parking location all beautiful. Staff in spa very nice.
The dining experience was awful. Long waits and poor quality when it did arrive . Both at dinner and breakfast
Good location, friendly and helpful staff
No daytime snack facilities that we saw
Very comfortable and spacious room, great spa/pool, lovely setting. Amazing restaurant.
Not like-Prices for things were not transparent. I have difficulty in walking and there was no wheelchair available especially if there was a fire. Like - location and a wonderful breakfast. Enjoyed the house.
