- The staff were very friendly, good facilities at the hotel, good room size and very comfortable beds! Bonus to have on site parking and very good breakfasts!
Cons -
- Very old - mold in bathrooms. Windows painted shut. Dirty
- No signal on the TV in the room. Poor wifi so couldn't connect to the tv
- Neither waste bin had been emptied when we checked in. Despite speaking to one of the support team, our room was not serviced on day 2 after we said it was ready – we did get a replacement hand towel. On the second night we were woken by external bagpipe playing in the early morning and then the occupants of the next room arrived apparently very much worse for wear and making a lot of noise until somebody told them to shut-up: we didn’t for fear of inflaming the situation. Despite a checkout time of 1030 (quite early in itself) we had to move our car from the car park by 1000.

Good location, nice room, nice bar, breakfast was nice
No signal on the TV in the room. Poor wifi so couldn't connect to the tv
The location was convenient for a wedding we were attending in Banchory. Onsite car parking was convenient and free but access ended before checkout.

Very poor
Room not very clean, was told would be a restaurant for evening meal but then told no cheif, again same in the morning breakfast was a shambles
Good location for where we wanted to visit.Room was good size and generally speaking our stay was good.
Unfortunately our room was above the outside beer garden area and the noise was very loud.
Very central in town. Friendly staff. Good breakfast (apart from toast)
There was mould on the 4 slices of toast and condiments were not replaced each day so had to go out to buy
Nice building, great location in a beautiful town.
The mattress was lope sided. Not a great sleep. Karaoke night on the Friday, that didn’t help with getting to sleep. Could have told me at the reception. The noise echoed around the building, but you can expect that from an old building.
Just stayed 1 night, staff friendly and room suited our needs.
Location Pet friendly
Staff weren't helpfulToilet continuously ranToilet Roll dispensers in the room bathrooms were ridiculousNo remote for the tv
The staff we saw were friendly. Hotel clean and comfortable. Good value for money. Apologies and a free drink for comment below!
Our allocated room was occupied and on entering, discovered a partially clothed man on the bed. A surprise for him and us. Also, when checking out there was no receptionist to be found and I was asked to pay cash by a kitchen worker which I fortunately declined. The amount was pending before being automatically taken from my account later on.
Just what I needed and staff were very friendly.
Everything was fine but didn't sleep well in the bed but that was probably more down to me as I am used to sleeping on a soft mattress .
Love the friendliness. The fact it’s central to all we needed. Breakfast was delicious.
Only three members of staff seem to be doing everything in the hotel. Took an age to check in as there was only one member there. There is no information in the rooms about restaurant times, breakfast etc.
Breakfast was good Receptionist was very attentive and helpfulOur twin room had not been cleaned / unmade bed So we were each allocated a double room at no extra charge! The hotel is in a very useful position with easy access to the Main Street and all the shops and restaurants.
The Hotel is old and showing its age. The ceiling in my room had water damage and was cracked and fixed with tape! The tv was squint on the wall with no signal. The cleaning was very poor with dusty surfaces everywhere.
Location was ideal
Extremely noisy at night, no staff to greet us or at reception when we checked out. Room had a bad smell when we checked in, bathroom was dirty, no hand soap in bathroom. Pillows were stained and thin like paper, curtain hanging off of rail, felt unsafe as back door was left open all night.
Location
I had a fall due to low lighting. No accident book could be found.
Cosy room for one night stay.
Cups in the room are too small.Breakfast too expensive, £12.00 each.Shower water pressure could be better.
Staff were lovely friendly and helpful
Room was overly warm
Only location was good
Dirty sheets, when changed bedrooms we found rotten strawberries on the fridge. Clearly no one is cleaning the rooms
